Monarchs, remember to rescue the Eleum Loyce knights before facing the Ivory King

I've just been summoned by some people (around 3 or 4) and all of them had either one or two knights (counting the one that's already beside the portal when we arrive).That makes the fight VERY difficult. reaching the missing three knights is not hard, just time consuming. Worth it though. Having countless Loyce knights spawning from the portals while the king is aiming at you makes the fight quite difficult :/

So the Loyce knights we rescued are lost until the next NG cycle? Oh gods ._. But you can still summon people if they put down a shade sign, if I'm not mistaken. I often see them in places I've already finished. Never used ascetics.

Do you mean that, if u use ascetic, the 3 knights respawn sitting at their chairs, so u have to talk to them again? That can explain why people prefer to just ascetic and fight with 4 phantoms instead of doing rescue again. Anyway, the only reason you ascetic and repeat this boss, is to have fun and farm loyce souls. And for that, better let all the portal opened and summon 3-4 buddies

Like i said. Really, it's BETTER to, if u ascetic, fight the boss without white knights, summoning 3-4 players. More fun, more exciting, more loyce souls to farm, so who cares if they respawn or not xD

PD: Okay, i understood that the knights keep spawning while the boss is dead from portals, to farm them? Then its easy to farm as a host. But i really prefer doin coop and kill the boss again, cause the phantoms have better chance to get souls

So, why not just avoid Ivory King and just farm the charred knights until you die or something, don't they just keep spawning forever?

Because you dont know if the hosts wants just to farm, or wants to do the boss itself. Also, you cant just keep farming and leave the boss there, killing everything... its a matter of honour, of.. passion. You entered the chaos and killed its soldiers, it was a war declaration. Then he spawns from an epic gate. You have to kill him, and free him from that curse. And anyway, u get some nice souls while u try to kill him, then u just put ur sign to do the boss again. It should be fast, its a nice boss that requires summons, should be high populated

Yes when you use an ascetic your allied knights you've rescued respawn with the boss, but if you go into ng+ normally, you will have to find them again. Like the giant souls and so forth. I actually found a higher drop rate on higher bonfire levels, like +3 and beyond with no item find I get a loyce soul almost every charred knight as the host. The phantoms get a higher drop rate for souls, and I see all my phantoms constantly picking things up. So those who wish to farm loyce souls faster, go to a higher bonfire level :).

To be honest and staying true to the original post, I find it a little inconvenient to farm Loyce souls as a host, at least on +0 bonfire intensity (pointing this out now that I'm aware of this detail). First, even though the voice chat feature exists, most players keep it off. There's no way to know what the host wants, as Raziel pointed out. All the hosts that summoned me stayed up on the king when he spawned, occasionally moving away to pick up drops and then back to the king. Some phantoms would also alternate between king and knights, me being the only one to focus solely on knights (cos as I see it, to farm you need at least two phantoms on each gate, one other if they please, and the host luring the king, or the host on the gates with phantoms and someone else luring the king). To farm the souls for as long as the knights spawn is not practical as you need 50 souls to get the maximum rewards and the soul of the queen and the knights also drop armor, probably weapons, too. The RNG isn't very friendly and using the Symbol of Avarice can be problematic depending on the role you decide to implement. The phantoms I saw using the symbol focused solely on the knights, but they were also in constant danger cos of their high load. The lack of communication makes organized farming very difficult and the fact that knights come out of two portals can be a headache if the phantoms don't quite know what they're doing, or even if the host doesn't know himself. So, wouldn't it be best to finish the fight fast, co-op a little, increase the bonfire intensity and keep repeating the boss with shades? Or do we get to summon phantoms again once the intensity is increased?

You can reach her before you get 50? Anyways, each to their own. There are people who won't want to kill her and there's nothing wrong with that.

Also, I agree. I think you can't get the armor set, if you planned on getting it.

Also, an update to my situation as a phantom on this boss... Last night I've been summoned by people with all four knights. I kept being summoned by two of them, while one or two others summoned me once, I guess. All of them had the four knights and not before long I had 20 Loyce souls in my inventory. What three of these people did was die as soon as the king arrived (two of them banished the phantoms when he showed up). That makes farming extremely safer as no one will have to worry with the king killing them while running for their loot. Honestly, was faster being banished and summoned back rather than avoiding the king.
