Buy from Chloanne
Large Titanite Shard:
Buy from McDuff
Titanite Chunk:
Coal Tars at Black Gulch. Droprates okay and they can be cheesed by lighting the tar-pits on fire (i like to just roll overt them with a torch out - where else am i gonna use torches). If i don't feel like farming, i just burn a Bonfire Ascetic at Brightstone Cove, since there are so many as loot from crystal lizards and the run-up to Freja.
Titanite Slab:
I never ran out of these ever. Can be farmed from Prowling Magus or the 2 Crystal Lizard at Dragon Aerie via ascetics, i guess. Many enemies drop these too, but the rates are probably not high enough to bother.
Twinkling Titanite:
Amana Priestesses and Clerics at Shrine of Amana. The better spot would be to burn Ascetics at the Sunken King DLC. One of the bonfires resets 2 chests; One with 3 Twinkling Titanites and one with 1 Ascetic in it, so it's loopable infinitely.
Petrified Dragon Bone:
Imperfects from the Sunken King DLC. But you can also grab some as loot by doing the Twinkling+Ascetic farm mentioned above. There's probably a YT-video with a route for that. Remember, you can just casually walk past most enemies at the DLC via Yearn or Alluring Skulls.
That huge basilisk thing in the hunter cove gives a load of large shards.
for me it's the chunks i have trouble with. The blacksmiths (Guys with giant hammers) in Harvest Valley seem to have pretty good drop rates for small shards.
Meanwhile the only reliable method i know of for Chunks is Bell Keepers, since either killing bell keeper invaders, or keeping people you're invading as a bell keeper both drop chunks with a small chance of slabs. BUT this requires pvp, which is both difficult, and not too common.
the alternative is the black hand-leeches in black gultch, but those things prefer dropping large shards, and you're lucky to get five chunks after an hour of grinding.
Also, drop rates scale with whichever new game cycle you are in. Standard NG has abysmal drop rates, it's not worth it.
Sadly, there are cases where i am
-Early game
-Trying to watch my soul memory for reasons
I don't mind farming, i just load up some Critical Role on my 2nd monitor and go into automatic mode. it's just annoying when the drops i want are rarer then a happy person in black gultch.
lmfao
Because soul level matters SOOOOOOOOO much to people who arent pvp sweats.....
Me having got large pieces and chunks on my first sweep of the gulch to fight the boss... Ok chief keep believing that...
I create mods for all the souls games and I can tell you the specific param it is.
Also. I MADE one of the mods that changes the drop rates for NG cycles.
There's a specific param in the files that governs this.
It is located in PlayerCommonParam, and is called NG+0 Item Discovery % (item_discovery_mult_ng0). Then there are additional params for NG1, NG2, etc.
Here are the original values before I modded them:
NG+0 - 0 multiplier
NG+1 - 1.50x (biggest jump in value)
NG+2 - 2.50x
NG+3 - 2.75x
NG+4 - 3.00x
NG+5 - 3.25x
NG+6 - 3.50x
NG+7 - 3.75x
It is applying a multiplier that stacks with your item discovery items. And yes, it is impacted by bonfire intensity so you can burn an ascetic to get these insane drop bonuses.
If you don't believe me, you can download smithbox right now, go to the param I named, and find the exact values.
Or... And here me out here... You can just use the MANY ways of grinding or just... ya know... buying... materials?
NG+1 is the biggest jump? Just go join the covenant of champions. That works the same way. Bonfire ascetic the gulch.
Shameless uneeded mod plug is shameless...
I'm not saying this should be a replacement to farming. I originally said it's not worth it to farm in NG because the drop rates are intentionally nerfed by Fromsoft. Then you "chime in" so I wanted to set the record straight, not for you, but so that others are not misled. Data talk. Chill, yeah?
Also, I didn't link to my mod, and my Nexus account uses a different name than my Steam one so you'll never find me. But I proved the point.
Company of Champions doesn't have any flags in the game files regarding item drops, btw. That's outright incorrect. We already know what CoC impacts, not going into that one.
Thanks for quoting my post and highlighting the drop modifiers, by the way. Appreciate it.
I'll take my 6K hours + modding experience vs your 33 hours, okay?
Oh cute- I love it when people go "Shut up X amount of hours i have Y hours more than you so that means i know more!!" While hiding just how many hours they have hahaha.
Yeah dude... iv had the game less than a week on PC and already got 33 hours...
And about several thousand over dozens of different saves on xbox...
And that shows how little you know. CoC doesnt affect item drops. At no point did i ever say it did. What it DOES is put the ENEMIES into NG+ Which... as you and many others over the last 10+ years have proven DOES affect item drops :)
"I think ill take my own experiences and tests over yours.... ok?"
Do you get any vitamin d past the shadow that ego of yours casts....?
Recently found out that Titanite slabs drop from the stone soldiers in Drangleic Castle, so that could be a viable farming location for slabs. Though you'd need to either be very careful around the Ruin Sentinels, or never open those doors along the side of the room to the right of the bonfire. Or just look for stone soldiers outside that room i suppose.
