Dragon knight build
I want to do a dragon knight build and need some advice.

Mandatory items:
- Dragon armor, the one that pops from the dragon stone (dragon covenant)
- Preferred weapons: Black dragon weapons and pyro hand. I intend to focus heavily on pyromancies combined with a 2-handed dragon greatsword or whatever. I'd also like to know if it's worth to infuse the sword with fire/ or should I go with raw?
- Ring choices: Third dragon and chlorianty. The other 2 rings are open.
- Stats: minimum STR/DEX to use the weapon (they have no stat scaling), 30int, 30fth

What do you suggest?

PS: Should I improve a particular weapon to kill stuff faster? E.g. improve a rapier or something like that.

Dragonbro cosplay involves the use of every BD-weapon.
A "true" cosplay wouldn't use any Pyros either, but your choice.
Infuse the weapons with Raw.
I like Ring of Blades, Red or Blue Tearstone Ring, maybe Stone Ring.
Stats: No INT or FTH, pyros deal enough damage without that. Level END and VGR, maybe a bit VIT if you want multiple weapons in your slots.

I don't want to build a dragonbro, I was up to it but discarded the idea. Now I just want to build a pyromancer that looks like a dragon and uses dragon weapons. The low stat requirements will let me use a weapon and equip a big lot of pyromancies.

the dragon armor really isnt that good, it looks tacky and is far heavier than it should be stat wise + you cant upgrade it

I don't really get the point of this thread then.
You have your weapons. You have your armor. You basically have your stats. You've gotten some ring tips.

What else do you want to know? You aren't a newb.

I do have the armor and the weapons, but I don't know the 3rd and 4th rings I should use, what stats are better for pyrodragon, and maybe I'm missing something like "this particular weapon is very good for your build". I'm saying this because after 400 hours in the game, it wasn't until yesterday that I learned how powerful Velstadt's hammer was, and until today I had no idea the Helix halberd even existed. I know for example black knight weapons have innate fire damage, the santier spear also has no scaling, and I'm probably missing a bunch of items, specially in the ring department.

On top of that, I don't know what pyromancies I should use explicitly, all I know is that I want pyromancies.

I'm at that point in the game where you stop looking for efficient stuff and simply go for fashion souls. Also DS3 is around the corner, only a few people are playing DS2 and few of them are tryhards.

I fight tryhards 90% of the time(RSS iron bridge)...but i get your point...

Life ring +3 s always a safe choice.
Blue Clearstone
Red Tearstone
Fire Clutch
Agape ring (Unless you like to have inflated SM)

Some ogf these rings are dependent on the situation

What SL are you aiming for?

From what i read you really want 30/30 INT/FTH for hexes pyromancies.
You want much HP. Agilty 100. End at least 20 (max. 34) enough attunemet slots

Look how many points you will have left to hit the respective SM or SL you are aiming for.
Choose your weapon selection.
If you don't go hog-wild with your upgrading, you can still use a Soul vessel, if a weapon doesn't work out for you.

Personal opinions:

Santier's is hardly a original choice. If it fits in the stat ditribution, you take it.
The bigger BK weapons never clicked for me. Too slow, too heavy, too much stat investment.

Pyromancies don't honestly get that much extra dmg from fire scaling. You are better off leveling attunement for more spell slots faster casting speed and extra casts.

Speaking of casting speed.

Clear Bluestone Ring

As you will be with out poise a giants ring might also be nice to take.

Main stats to focus should be

Vigor
Endurance
Attunement

You can level vitality, str, and dex to what ever you need for your stat requirements for weapons and equip load. (Note you should level up vitality enough so that you can fast roll even with out the third dragon ring)

Adaptability should be raised till you hit your agility breakpoint of choice. Since Attunement will be your main stat for your build adaptability can be realtivly low for your character.

Int and Faith will be the last things to level for your toon. They will increase the dmg of your spells and slightly increase casting speed but they are the least important for your build intially.

Mainly focus on endurance (pyromancies eat up stamina) and Attunement

TLDR

Raise Vigor, Endurance, and Attunement as your main goal
Use the Ring of Giants
Use the Clear Bluestone Ring

You sould use raw on your black dragon weapons.

I hadn't thought of the casting ring (even though I intended to go for spells, duh). About int/fth not raising the fire damage, how's that? Is it bad scaling? I understand those shouldn't be my main stats, but...

Now I'm confused about that.
Fashionbeast Mar 20, 2016 @ 11:34am
Yes the scaling isn't that good. If you don't want to incorparate a sencondary spell school, it is kind excessive in point ditribution. Pyromancy was always kind of the spell school and secondary damage type for us dumb warriors.
Abyss___Walker Mar 20, 2016 @ 11:54am
For pyrodragon type of built the two rings which you are looking for may be ring of blades +2 and southern ritual band +1 for extra spell slots.
TrueArchery Mar 20, 2016 @ 12:55pm
But don't use the Ring of Giants for poise.
You go either NO poise or you go FULL PLATE for >90 poise.
Abaddon Mar 21, 2016 @ 1:47pm
I have to say I just duelled someone with full Velstadt armor and I could easily stunlock them with a rapier. Poise in this game's a joke, I'll just roll.
