That's on top of bosses who are often the same exact design mind you. A lot of bosses have annoying AoE spam and just the same kinda crappy movesets and unfun combos that give them way too much mobility. Bad pacing/progression, too much bloat and copy-pasting, bad boss designs and an online mode not worth it.
The map's also rather bad, I did some basic calculations earlier and from what I gathered, my previous guesses were kinda right. Map seems to be around 7.75x6.5km (excluding the edges with only water there), but then within those 50km2 you still have inaccessible space that's either water or cliffs/stuff and most of the playable area is just dead space. We're talking like a 17-22km2 map or something where most of the space is just empty. That's not counting the underground btw, but still. Just kinda sucks.
The others felt boring in comparison and not as enjoyable and fun.
I've been playing ds2 for almost 7 years by now.
Dark Souls 2 needs a second chance to go back into the oven and get the makeover it deserves. This idea is a little background hobby of mine that I work on from time to time, but I doubt I'll get to the point of making anything concrete. The dream is there, though.
