Beating the Blue Smelter Demon
Getting to the boss fight is the worst part! Get through all of that only to die and have to do it all over again. I tried doing the short cut through the gates but half the time I would die to the fire.

I finally got sick of that and just ended up emptying out all of the mobs from all of the room on the way to the boss. The only mob standing in my way now of getting to the boss is that last fire giant that stands near the fog!

I decided that I will summon on of the NPCs for help. Previously I summoned both of them but I think I did almost worse with them than I did alone. More help = higher hp for the boss, right? Seemed like when the demon swung his sword he would usually hit both of the NPCs at the same time. I figure their main job is to keep the attention of the boss anyhow, and I do most of the damage. So I will summon just one, to keep the boss off of me as much as possible.

Does that sound like a good plan? I am not great at dodging his swings yet and want to end this guy soon! I am tanking him in some havels with havels shield. Encumberance is about 68% so I dont have to slow roll. Wearing the magic +3 protection ring along with dragon +3. soldiers + 1, and the endurance regen ring +2.

I cant decide what weapon to use. I guess I am better off one handing it and using the shield if I get caught, since I imbued the havels with magic and it is 100% magic block now? Seems what I am best with is either the great club +10 imbued with dark or my ultra great sword +10. I feel like the move set on the sword is better and it seems to have a longer reach. I got the demon boss down to about 1/3 HP though using the club along with just one of the NPCs. I brought two but one got killed. I will be able to bring both now since I killed all but the one mob, but I figure I shouldnt.

Do you think my ultragreat sword +10 or the great club +10 dark imbued would be better? I also have the king's ultra greatsword +5 now but the moveset on that sucks bad IMO. Im not too fond of it and wish I hadnt wasted all of that dragon bone on it.

Is the Kings Ultra greatsword a good option for fighitng this boss though? I am wondering how that effect of damaging his armor will work out in a long fight. Would I see appreciable increase in the damage I do as the fight goes on and his armor gets more and more damaged? Ive not used the weapon much because I find the moveset a bit hard to utilyze, I feel like I miss the enemy too often.;

Since I have been grinding so much in the game my level is now up to about 162. Would I be able to summon another player to help me in this boss fight? I usually just play offline and solo. I am not into PvP. I do enjoy though if someone helps me along. I would also like to help others but havent done that yet. I think there is some kind of limit to how you can summon if your level is over 150? How does that work?

1) the fire can be shut off.

2)the more help you get the HIGHER the Resistance they get not HP.

3) drop the magic ring he is fire unless your doing the one from the fume tower that guy is magic

4)don't just try and end it watch his attacks attack after his final swing animation

5) WHEN HE PUTS HIS SWORD IN THE GOUND DON'T JUST GO AND ATTACK

6) the weapon doesn't matter I've killed him with a broken short sword

7) lastly you can wipe the trash out befor you go fight him (most monsters dissapear after 12 defeats there are a FEW who are 1 and done and others are just constantly there)

as for not being used to a weapon well that just comes down to how well you know the move set and the timing for it honestly

you really don't get invaded that much unless you stick around an area more then half an hour and being ok at PVP my self it helps with the boss fights cause i'm used to dealing with different styles of fighting.

also whats your SM?

I already defeated the first smelter demon, This is the magic one, blue, in the DLC. A bit tougher aparently.

Blue smelly really likes to delay his attacks . I believe his attack timings are even more messed up than the fire smelty. When he Roars it usually indicates that his attack is about to hit you . You can use it to time your dodges .
You can use toxic mist or poision mist if you have them . They help a lot. Again as already said above don't rush in when he does that stabbing lunge attack , there is a chance it will be followed by an aoe attack.
Also he takes pretty good damage from dark . So try using dark pine resin or dark weapon buff .

Yeah, timing when to dodge is a lot harder here. I have learned not to rush in after he jams the sword into the ground, that AOE has killed me several times!

I have a great club that I infused with dark, might try it again. I kinda like my ultra great sword +10 the best though. Maybe Ill break down and infuse that too. Then I could stack some dark resin with it.

I can always remove any imbuement, right? Ive got a good number of the item you use to do that. Forget what its called.

My Soul Memory is 3,610,863. I had to look that up. Havent really been paying attention since I single player almost all of it. I did use a player to help beat 2 bosses though. Made a huge difference! Think it was first the Pursuer and then the fight with those 3 sentinals, think thats what they are called.

not by much but I recommend wiping out the trash either way sense both of the smelter demons don't have a "close" bonfire and there is alot of trash in the way. my advice just fight him like the first guy but a with some caution cause its a LONG run back if you zerg hush to the boss.

i'm sitting at like 214-230 SL but I havn't even finished world one cause i'm going back and wiping out EVERYTHING that I can so that way I can go into NG with little to no issue out of the gate sense so far I've got 99 str and 99 Vit and currently working on my adaptiblity with my dex or my endurance being next in line.

but Like I said take your time wipe out the trash and then work on the boss cause then you can just walk your butt back as you do the walk of shame as I call it back to the boss (i've done that a few hundred times and still counting) and try again.

That is exactly what I have done with the blue smelter. I killed all but the one last giant mob at the fog wall. I may just leave him and run past him with the NPC. SHouldnt be an issue. I can walk with the NPC the whole way to the fog gate without being attacked now. I did do that with a few areas in the game up to now. I try to avoid it if I can though since it is so tedious!

the pursuer fight is just like the mini pursuers that you run into after the first smelter demon and the 4 in the lost bastile. as for the sential fight thats just like fighting 3 of them in the castle for training I find but I also bait thier attacks alot my self.

but ya i'm not even at tha fume tower section yet i'm not even touching the DLC's unless i'm with my friend in co op even though I could probly solo them.

So with me having about 3.5 million SM, does that mean i can only summon players that are about that level? How does that work?

ok there is a calculor on the wiki that tells you at what rank of SM you can summon other players but for speed i'll just tell you that your in rank 36 wich is the range for 3mill - 4.999m.

you can get summoned by people as low 7 ranks below with a the name engraved ring+ the small soap stone and the same goes for you for sumoning others

but your basic summoning is as follows:
2.75m-11.999m with the large soap stone
2.5m-14.999m with a small

with the name ring:
large: 2m-29.999m
small: 1.75m-44.999m

note: with the name ingraved right YOU DO get a larger summon range but are LIMITED to that selected god while you have it on tho you can change the god by removing and re-aplying the ring

Using an Elizabeth mushroom also neglects his damaging aura for a good part.
