How do I get access to the DLC's?

They require some key items you can find.

Frozen key is by the ruin sentinels in the main castle (with the end game area), the sanctum key is down in the well, and old iron key is down by toads that shoot fire in the first area. You can get down there easily by acquiring another key in the lava level, right under some fire spewing thing at the beginning.

Frozen Flower (Crown of the Ivory King DLC) --> Drangleic Castle.

Heavy Iron Key (Crown of the Old Iron King DLC)

In the pit with the Flame Lizards.
You can jump if you are using the cat ring and enough health or you will need go to Iron Keep and get the Iron Key. The best way for me, without hurt yourself or die is pull the lever to turn off a fire trap, before you defeat the Old Iron King.

Dragon Talon (Crown of the Sunken King DLC)

You need to get the Forgotten Key after defeat some giants hidden underneath the Black Gulch. After that, head back to Majula and jump into the well. There will be a ladder that will lead to a forgotten door. The Dragon Talon will be inside the room.
