Just ignore it and listen to the voices... I don't fluently speak japanese but after several years (almost 2 decades omfg......) of hearing japanese I can get the general meaning :p
Let me break it down for you.
Japanese is NOT an easy language to translate into English. As a matter of fact, no one translation is ever correct, not even official subtitles from companies. Fansubs are not always correct either, so don't give me that crap that 'fansubs better than funis hurr durr' and stuff.
Anime like Lucky Star, or Watamote, or many others that have jokes, references, and all that tend to be changed in English for the exact reason that Japanese jokes do not translate well, or at all to English. Grant it, I'm not a fan of Nana's voice actor in English, but some of the voices in JP are making me cringe a bit, so I'd rather the English dub in some cases.
Face it, Japanese just doesn't translate to English too well in some cases, and the jokes that is Akihabara in this game is probably a result of that.
Actually just saw "This is a game marketed towards people who sit and watch Anime about cute girls doing cute things all day". Pretty sure OP is trolling, since this can't possibly be serious (at least I hope not). The game is actually heavily ironic to the whole Otaku/Anime theme with a ton of in-jokes.
I'd have thought people would be happier for the "bro" puns rather than just "Oniichan" being said over and over, but there you go rawr.
Wow. Mo-ron is a censored word? Really? O.o
Why trolling ? It's true it's a game for "weaboos" like some people want to name us. Not everyone is ashamed of loving cute things even when way past the 20's.
The "bro" puns don't mesh well in the game...
It's true that some japanese puns are not funny anymore when translated but I don't like when they "localize" things only because "we won't get it".
People who play this type of game are bound to love anime/manga and japan in general. It's impossible otherwise
could've been worse *_*
the "Broski" and all other brother puns sound cute for the sister.
I'm pretty sure Neptunia is highly enjoyed by a majority of players whether they sit around wearing a fedora or go out and get pu55y
Although I guess knowing more than like six or seven words of Japanese would make it even more fun... >>
