cant open big treasure box

I have the same problem, too. Sometimes it just won't work. For every treasure box on the map.

If digging or flattening doesn't work try leaving the world then come back to it again - that unglitched a chest for me

Opening chests becomes bugged sometimes. When it happens you can't open any chest in the world. Only reloading game helps.

I try using skeleton abilities to open underwater chests. I had a hard time with one (the B to open it kept disappearing) i'll reload later and see if it is fixed

For me when I got the bug, I just skydived (it's something to do with the UI getting stuck on a particular tool even if it's not showing) and that seemed to fix it. If not, restart your game.
