How to use a kizuna attack?

I probably missed this in the tutorial.
I know how to do a kizuna RUSH but i noticed an achievement stating "Use 3 Kizuna attacks in one battle" - is this was a rush i would have already done it... many times..

So i am wondering how i do a Kizuna attack?
Is it the R1 or right rumper i neglect to use a lot?

press "B" in kizuna rush or circle with ps controller for keyboard i have no clue :p

I've used many of these before though, in fact in every lane i make sure to use it on every crew member as soon as i get it and because i always get 3 crew members at once it means that cant be the kizuna attack because i would of gotten the achievement.

Isn't a regular Kizuna attack just the "B/Circle" attack?

you have three possible way to use kizuna ,

first is at the end of a combo you press one more attack button and your selected teammate comes to attack once

second the kizuna rush with left trigger

third the combo attack while in kizuna rush you press b or circle

That's the one he's looking for! I just checked my achievements, and the Kizuna attack achievement descriptions all refer to the crew, so yeah, it's that one. Crew attacks at the end of a combo.

I am so confused because i have done everything above waaaay over 3 times in every mission i've played...
Yet no achievement.
Has anyone else gotten it?

I've used TONS of them though and i mean tooooooooooons!
You need to get more than 3 of them just to get the kizuna bar filled up... so how would i miss it you know?

just a wild guess it says on the achievement that you have to perform 3 kizuna attack with 3 different hero in the same stage , maybe you did it multiple time but not with 3 different teammate

Worked it out...

So i have the achievement unlocked, but when i checked under the games play button in my library they all had padlocks... thus i assumed they were locked >.>

Not sure thats a bug or not, it says all achievements are locked when they aren't, yet if i click achievements it has them unlocked.

Yea that's a bug with Steam's achievement screen. It happens on some games.

5 years later..and this post is still not solved..

if you are still alive, and still playing the game and still wondering what is going on..


To use a kizuna attack, your active party member must have level 2 kizuna. To raise the level simply keep attacking until they reach level 2. An on screen notification will pop up every time they level.

once your party member is level 2, you can start doing combos. After each combo, follow it up IMMEDIATELY with the last button pushed.

For instance, if you are just spamming x when the combo ends (when it is yelled out and shows up in the left corner of screen) press the x buttton again. this will cause your party member to come out and do a finishing move, anyone they kill will grant you a !

If you are doing xxxa then when the combo ends, push a AGAIN.

sorry this took 5 years to ACCURATELY explain to you.

this is incorrect. there is only one way to do a kizuna attack..ie the way i just described.

if you want to do a kizuna rush that is something different.

Also, ftr, the number of ! needed to get s in that category varies for each mission, not the 1-2k stated. For instance, in the prologue you only need to get 500! to get s in that category.

You can estimate how many ! you need by viewing the legend. if there is a ! requirement then if you meet that requirement you should get s.

Also, after doing the kizuna attack, you can immediately press the dash button (the green foot icon, which corresponds to b on an xbox controller or circle on a ps4 controller) then you can input another combo and do another kizuna attack

if you are quick enough and skilled enough you will be popping these off accurately like it's a joke.


alternatively, if you are just looking to get !, you can charge up to level 4 and do a kizuna rush (right trigger, followed by y) this will instantly summon all party members at max kizuna and you will all do a party attack. all enemies killed at this point will grant !..

however, since this is not a kizuna attack, nor available for every mission (prologue you can't do kizuna rush until last minute for instance, also some missions you can't do it at all ) it's not really the answer to your question. if you want reliable constant ! you do kizuna attack. if you want large groups of ! once in a while you do rush.
