I just want to play games. I no longer classify games as a live service, multiplayer only as GAMES. Games are art. Art doesn't force you to stare at it under punishment of death then burn itself as soon as people stop staring at it. Art doesn't contract other artists to draw art on top of it so that the art can get more views. Art doesn't reward you with trinkets for visiting the art gallery X amount of days in a row. Art doesn't tell you "visit the art museum, only dressed in your underwear, on a blue moon , during the apocalypse " 5 points.
Art doesn't burn itself after a year
Art doesn't receive remasters /remakes every other day.

VIDEO GAMES CEASED TO BE ART AGES AGO. NOW THEY ARE NOTHING BUT CASH GRABS IN WHICH DEVS HIRE PRO PSYCHOLOGISTS TO MARKET TO CONSUMERS AND ATTRACT CONSUMERS THROUGH PSYCHOLOGICAL MANIPULATION , PREYING UPON PREDISPOSED ADDICTION.

There does not need to be a yearly installment of the mona lisa. Likewise, there does not need to be a yearly installment of every game.

QUit developing all these "games"

Please do not come here expecting me to play any of these games. I no longer wish to be involved playing them.
If it doesnt' at least have an egnaging single player campaign that I don't have to play daily to complete, then as far as i'm concerned it doesn't exist.

All games like this have been hidden from my library and no more of them shall be purchased, redeemed, discussed or even thought of by me.

I honestly would rather plug in my snes and play one of the games I own for that then play anything made in the last 10 years..

and that's flippin sad.

At least those games are still playable. 25 years from now, you can pick any game you own on steam and 90% guarantee that it will either be

A) totally unplayable
B) partially playable, with most of the content gated behind a now defuncty online system
c) partially playable, but heavily reliant on co-op..and no one is playing it.
D) unloadable, with a security system that cannot be patched and authentication servers that have long since been down
E) playable, but then spams you with nonsense about how you missed out on 25 yeras of "content"

Can you imagine trying to play Super Mario World , only to load up the game and 2 player is grayed out? Your save file is stored online and cannot be accessed. THe game needs an update to run, but the update cannot be downloaded? Half the content is missing due to being online only. YOu cannot login to the game. UPon starting the game, you get a million notifications about long ended events and all the mario , yoshi, luigi and sprite recolors that you did not acquire.

If no one but me is disturbed by this, then that in itself is quite disturbing.

I want to enjoy playing games. I do not want to spend the next 25 years of my life playing the same game(s) I do not want to be on my death bed , regretting never having beaten skyrim because I was too busy playing the monthly event in game a and game 2-bc34.
