GAME NOT LAUNCHING

Just bought game, played for a few hours, but now whenever I try to launch, steam says its running, but then nothing happens and steam says it isn't running. WTF undead!?

Bought yesterday and no problems at all for me. It aint the games fault...

learn to SEARCH for answers for your problems, and if you need to ask, then give all relevanat info like systems specs, etc. Because if you relly want help, then more info is better.

You dont have to uninstall c++. Ive been having this issue for months with SoD as well as The Crew, and one other game. I finally figured out how to fix them and get them to work, instead of just disappearing once "syncing" stops. Navigate to your game folder (usually Computer>Local Disk C>Program Files X86>Steam>SteamApps>Common>StateofDecay(or whichever game you are fixing)>_CommonRedist>vcredist. From there you will see folder(s) with the year of c++ in the game. Open the folder(s) and simply double click to open the files, then when prompted, repair instead of uninstall. Fixed.

(This is actually a new to me fix and I appreciate Malficetophe for figuring it out)

guys there is no _CommonRedist or vcredist folder in C>Program Files X86>Steam>SteamApps>Common>StateofDecay. its just the game and engine folder.. where the heck are they ??

Try installing windows SDK kit if your on windows 10, or windows universal crt update for older O.S. or uninstall the old one if you did get that update and reinstall the update, based on your O.S. and hardware, you can also find a all in one direct-X-Run-times installer package. when anyone asks questions, and you provide limited information, no one can help you, if you do not give key information, such as event viewer log information, and system information, we don't know if you have the correct stuff installed to run the game.
