bosses in this game are absolutely terrible
except maybe 1 boss of the entire line up of bosses isn't terrible, elizebet? trash, zedonious? trash, armadillo hitboxes? trash.
Nothing will ever top Ninja gaiden black, ninja gaiden 2 has good combat, but bosses are just straight waste of time, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game boss design.
And before u say anything, yes I've beaten the game on master ninja, and ngb 1 on master ninja no life of the gods

I won't argue that elizebet isn't trash but honestly it isn't like Doku, Awakened Alma, and Alma were any less awful.

Awakened alma is the same trash as elizebet, doku is just playing the patience game with him you can 1 try doku in any difficulty.
But 1 trash boss in ngb vs almost every boss in ng2b?

Who at Team Ninja thought it was a good idea to make bosses who can decides whenever a hit is a hit or you just hitting at the air or a block of stone. Elizebet was by far the worse at it but she wasn't the only one.

All bosses were trash tier though, even the ones not doing this!

Out of all the things I didn't like about the game, the boss designs were probably the biggest issue

I love Armadillo and Elisebeth so it is just a matter of taste. I agree Zedonius is garbage. Last boss, Fiend Genshin and Black Dragon are also epic. Now that I think about it the only lame bosses are Rasetsu (only the 2nd time), Zedonius and Volf.

I know this is a hot take, but i totally agree. Bosses are just garbage in this game compared to NG1 but the combat is great. Even better than in DMC5 in my opinion. Bosses grab way too much and most of them are flying which is so annoying. You gotta wait till they attack most of the times. Woohoo can't wait to fight elizabet on mentor now... Volf was a pretty good boss tbh. Hopefully NG4 will have less annoying bosses.

I think the biggest problem with the bosses is that the game teaches you to be as aggressive as the enemies so as to not give them openings but bosses just say "nah, you are playing on my time now" Seriously, the amount of times I have baited an opening only for the boss to suddenly just go "nuh uh" and cancel their attack mid animation and either grab me or do a different combo is and always has been annoying. Elezebet is a prime example of this as you can tell when to attack after she does her spastic flying but as soon as you go for a counter she near 100% of the time just ignores it and goes into another combo forcing you to wait her out again. All the bosses do this ♥♥♥♥ and it is tiresome. If I bait out moves I should be rewarded with an opening to do damage but most of the time it is a 50/50 chance if I will get an opening or if the boss just ignores me and the game lets them go on the offensive again.

Alma and Awakened Alma are both terrible. And if you try to hit Doku after he does his charged iai only to watch your attack bounce off and he gets to iai twice out of nowhere, you aren't 1 trying him.

That said I hate Liz and we just have to hope Platinum can finally make an NG game with good bosses. 3RE is not any better in terms of bosses either

For the bosses that are just a little bigger than Ryu it seems like light attacks are not safe and do not really cause significant hitstun. Also alot of heavy attacks are not safe either like heavy heavy heavy with the dragon sword. If you spam this attack on the first boss on master ninja you will ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ die. He will grab you after eating the third heavy and 1 shot you.
Now what I've noticed on master ninja is that light, light, heavy, forward heavy with the dragon sword will actually keep the enemy in hitstun and you can perform this entire string without the enemy counterattacking. At least this was on the first boss. So you really have to experiment with strings and see which ones are safe to use on the bosses. I'm just looking for a way to deal with dogs right now. These dogs are driving me up the side of a wall. On master ninja they just one shot me with their grabs.

Elizebet IS absolutely terrible, but the last time I fought her I learned that you can (potentially) hit her with flying swallow while she's in an attack animation (her blood drain or her magic circle grab in the 2nd fight) while flying and it puts her into a knockdown state. Gives you a couple free hits, but you have to make distance after or she gets up with a grab

Fire Armadillo is an awful experience, especially on Master Ninja, but after a significant amount of attempts, I had accidentally hit it on the head with the Scythe's full charged UT and it insta killed it. I don't know if that's an intentional feature or not, but I had it happen twice, so it's at least repeatable. Seems to be chanced based though, like going for a decap crit. The first time it happened I was so confused that I thought I'd just put it into a knockdown (since it had 2/3rds of it's HP) and it exploded and killed me. Took an attempt or two of just aiming at the head to get it to happen again.

Still better than dealing with the enraged state.
Sorry buddy but Ninja Gaiden bosses in general are garbage

Easy solution to dogs is flying swallow until one dies, then use the essence to charge a UT and hopefully kill another. The benefit to dogs is they normally spawn with a warning or at a distance so you can charge UT to max before they reach you. If you're using the Lunar Staff it'll definitely kill 1 or multiple of them if you're lucky and they're close enough together, definitely multiple if you use the 360 UT.

They are a pain, but my biggest frustration tends to be the winged demons, since those fireballs are near one shots on earlier levels and they love spamming them if they're in groups
