Rage of Demons DLC Info
Because I've seen some confusion from folks over whether or not RoD DLC has already been released, where they can find it, or when it will be released and if it is actually free I thought I'd put this here.

As of January 9th, 2016 the RoD DLC has not yet been released and we've also not yet received any information with a concrete release date or content that will be contained within the DLC other than the following:

Return to the Underdark in this all-new adventure taking place as part of D&D's "Rage of Demons" storyline, featuring the legendary outcast drow Drizzt Do'Urden and some of the deadliest enemies ever to terrify Faerûn.
•New Rage of Demons tile sets and placeable objects
•New playable race: Tieflings
•New creatures available for DMs
•New Playable class based on community input (Warlock)
•Allow player-created characters as companions in story mode
•Enable players to control their characters' movement with the WASD keys
•Bug fixes and additional community feedback items as time allows

If you would like to see a few preview screens for content that will be coming with RoD:

Again, when there is new information beyond what has already been posted above, I will add to this post on the official forums ( https://forums.swordcoast.com/index.php?/topic/10003-rage-of-demons-dlc/ ) with the updated info but until that time this post should be considered to be all the info we have for the time being about the RoD DLC.

Lastly, as to if there is any cost for the DLC, here it is directly from Ash:

ROD is free for everyone. Meaning that you could purchase SCL after ROD is released and you'd still get ROD for free. There is no paywall blocking content, it will be available for all owners of the game.

And dev cheat hard because druid and bard was far ahaead, faceplam. This dev has serious com problems and should fire asap its whole com team to hire people more competent.

EDIT: The warlock is such a pointless class, it's just one more mage with an OP unique spell, facepalm. The most stupid class choice.

The warlock was chosen by design council community input. Not the poll from the general forum where druids were leading.

Personally I would have preferred a bard or barbarian, but I think warlock and tiefling both suit the RoD expansion, since it's about demons and warlocks and tieflings are also primarily about demons.

Great post - all the stuff people were looking for in one place. Especially good that the confusion re freeness is now cleared up by N-Space, thanks for linking it.

I don't disagree about design committees, that sort of thing has presented some issues with other RPGs as well to be honest, but since they've got a whole bunch of stuff to do in terms of classes, it's probably a good sign that they're pressing ahead whichever class they pick. Worth mentioning too that the addition of warlocks could imply the possibility of moral/alignment choices featuring more heavily in the game, indeed if they're making the new campaign with that in mind, warlock might be an obvious choice of class to add.

I'm glad it's going to be Warlock. I have a feeling that the SCL devs will do a better job of making the Warlock a fun and interesting class than the 5e WotC devs did.

Fixed that. Thanks.

If you are going to shorten words, try not to shorten two different words to the same one. I'm still not quite sure wtf you are talking about.

People that suck well or shout loud or manipulate well, none of that make them more qualified to choose anything for any community.

Seeing all the wrong choices the dev did it makes aven more doubtful they did a selection among players. And a simple proof is to have ended with the Warlock choice when the community no way wanted it

You are shouting loud and manipulating here, you are equally unqualified.

What wrong choices are they making? they didn't choose a class you liked, that is not a wrong choice, that is just you not getting what you wanted. The choice is made by a select number of the community that paid for the privilege. That's how the world works I'm afraid, money talks, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ walks.

Indeed. Dunno why this council forgot bard, druid and barbarian...3 fun core classes.

They didn't, the vote was very close.

I guess they chose warlock because of the campaign theme. In any case I am also waiting for more popular classes.

should we have much hope for warlock? as far as i heard mages are very weak and what was different about warlocks and mages before was their spellselection and not having to memorize.. well..

Using mage armor, buffs like haste and magic weapon plus some weapon and armor proficiencies you can make mages that can hold even in melee combat quite well. Nevertheless, normally there's another character tanking for you and the mage can be a powerful glass cannon.

with spells scaling so badly why even bother? even your "wizard build" is a physical dps char instead of using spells. good luck with finding CDR gear with the right + dmg source if you want a caster. i miss abi-dalzim horrid wilting. that thing was impressive.

Before things escalate, yes, the Warlock class was chosen by the design coucil and not other non-official polls that appeared on various forums including our own. That being said, we love ALL the classes and hope to incorporate them all into SCL one day. One step at a time. :)

cant wait for tieflings :)
