Should I start with the anime or the game?
I've already seen a few episodes of the anime, yet I'm not sure if I should keep on watching it rather than play the actual game. Where's the best place to start?

VN first. Don't spoil yourself by watching Anime first.

i watched the anime long before i bought this, and honestly theres a lot of details I already know so parts get boring. One of my playthroughs i literally held ctrl for most of the time because I already knew what was happening. Though the similarities between this and the anime are spot on. The anime kind of takes all the scenarios and smashes them into one "playthrough" or the season. I'd recommend playing this first and then watching them come to life in the anime.
Btw once you finish all the scenarios you unlock Afterstory which is the feels trip.

Well finishing the game takes way over 80h to finish 100% and the anime series is 23 x 30min, so it depends on if you're willing to put the hours into it. Generally speaking, the anime adaptations cuts content, but that's to be expected. Another exaple of this is the Steins;Gate series (not available on Steam).

My biased opinion is that the thorough character building is worth it. I have not watched the anime adaptation.

I watched the anime first and yea they do cut content a bit, but all the main things you need to know are there and plus on you thing for watching the anime it would be 49 x 24 min because of after story and the Tomoyo and Kyou arc.

But i just started the game as well but have seen the anime in its entirty 9 times and I would recommend the game first just because of more character building and all the extra content the game has is a plus, but I would continue the anime after you are done because it is a very good series.

I wouldn't watch the anime first, but it's almost completely personal opinion. The VN will always be more in depth because of the length, and "I" think it is much more meaningful to play the VN first, since you will not be bored at parts while playing the VN if you have already seen the anime.

It's basically a "Read the book vs watch the movie" arguement, except we don't see many of those nowadays since no one reads books XD
