what about some kind of pumping system?
like put a special object in the water, connect it with some kind of pipes to a pump object in the base and then obtain water from the pump. 40 thirst units per 3 seconds would be a sufficent pumping speed.
Yes, probably they will be added with one of the next updates ^^
The watering can handling is basically already implemented, but there is no water requirement for plants yet, that's why the watering can is disable atm ^^

The glass bottle will act as a water container, like the canteen or waterskin ^^ But unfortunately it's not fully ready yet...
There had been some considerations about that in the past, but probably it will still take some time until this gets implemented... first we have to get the new version ready so it can finally replace the Java version ^^
If the animals in the wild needed water how would that work? Some are very far from water and if someday we have ocean water (salt water) they could not drink that.

Maybe use the feed trough instead for the care of animals. Animals needing water sounds complex.

One game I played you could use a rope to bring animals back to your homestead.
Maybe once you did something like that they would no longer be animals in the wild and now would require care like water, feed, grooming and health care. Just a thought.
Or it could just be ignored all together. Definitely nothing to put on the list any time soon.
but... "game changing" is too much BIG word for that...
