We tried that, but it didn't seem to work for us and I'm unsure if that has to be a setting turned on before the world is made or if it can be toggled on and off for multiplayer.
could you be more specific about how it didn't work?
I was attacked unprovoked by a bull when I walked back into camp. Which in itself is weird because even before we turned on the setting, they generally left us alone
did you have a lit campfire there, by chance? there's a known issue where mobs will interpret their taking damage from walking into a fire as the player attacking them. bulls won't attack the player unprovoked even outside of peaceful mode.
We do have a campfire. Does it matter that I'm not the one who put it down or do they just attack anyone close by if they walk into it? Also I'm sorry if any of these questions sound stupid, I'm incredibly new as you've probably guessed lol
i think it'll just be the nearest player. and no worries! asking questions is much smarter than making false assumptions, cuz how else will you learn? we were all new once.
I experienced animals reacting to a tool movement (action key) in their direction even when they were five six meters away. I was attacked by two bulls that were passing by just because I felled a tree. and another time a sheep started to flee because I was harvesting a rock.
On a multiplayer server, this setting needs to be done by the server owner. There is a "server.properties" file in the server directory where "Settings_PeacefulMode" can be set to true (to enable peaceful mode for all players).
If you're using the "Play with Friends" option instead, this setting must be set by the host, i.e. the person who loads the world through the "Play with Friends" buttons. It's just the setting in the settings menu then (it's labeled "Singleplayer" there, but if set by the host, these settings also apply in co-op) ;)
