Aluminum
Yes, I searched the forum. What I got was aluminum spawns up high and in artic regions. Well I have yet to find or even spot snow. I am wondering if that's because my world is maybe 30% mountainous and my highest elevation found so far is near 250, not over 600. And if you are saying I have to travel and find an arctic region then how do I get a way to make clothess to survive the arctic without the advanced crafting table that needs aluminum? I just gave a glowing review so please help out.

not up high, that's old versions of the game. it now only spawns on arctic ISLANDS. the one you spawn on is temperate, snowy areas on it don't count.

you can make the leather/fur suit with the regular workbench.

It seems like cloth might be locked behind the third crafting table that you can't get without aluminum but how do you head to the cold for aluminum without clothes?

the modern bench is not required to make cloth.

Craft the fur (leather?) coat. Then craft a sailboat and the storage chest that goes on it. Load up on food and water, also bandages / first aid would be helpful. Make sure you have torches. A waterskin or canteen is advisable. Wear the fur coat and sail north from the starter island. It will take several in-game hours, but you will eventually come to an arctic landmass.

As soon as you land, craft and place a campfire and / or a bonfire. You should also place a crude shelter or sleeping bag in case you die - it would be a long swim back.:steamfacepalm:
Try to avoid getting wet. Stand near the fire to dry off and get warm. It helps to have a shelter to stand under when it snows, or you can dig into a dirt bank to make a small cubbyhole, and place a campfire.

Watch out for wolves and polar bears, they will attack and they can hurt you. Once the sun comes up, you can go searching for minerals. My buddy and I found a lot of aluminum on the surface, but we also went into wormholes and found aluminum, tungsten, coal, iron, and sulfur. If you explore the wormholes, take plenty of torch stands with you to light the way and mark your way back to the surface.

Make a map then there should be arrows pointing Arctic and Desert islands. Take your sailboat and go north till you see the map change and you see snow and ice. Your now at the Arctic island. Look for Ore rocks point at the rock it should say ore rock next to your health bar. Mine it and it will give you Aluminum.

forgive me for not reading everything posted above but I have yet at a glance to see anyone point out that there are 3 maps, the one you start on and seeing most get hung up on that, but if you sail north till your off the map you flip over to the Arctic map where everything is snow and ice, this is where you will find what you need including ice bound chests that can give you a leg up on powerful items, you will find the chests on blue ice for the most part and you have to break the ice off the box to get inside. from there you should look for either ore rocks or a cave and go on and find your aluminum, be ready for the cold like stated above.

repeat same ideas for the south map. gold awaits.
