Forget about survival, Building in this game is unmatched!!!!
Lets forget about survival for a second and focus on the building mechanics this game has to offer.

No other game on the market right now comes anywhere close to the versatility that Rising world offers. I've played many building games, I've played other more well known games where you can build stuff but not to your personal design. (ark, valheim, raft, etc)

On other building/survival games, they're very limited to how you can build, and the builds on those types of games aren't anything other than a basic prefab wall or door.. You don't really look at those walls. You dont admire anything you build in those games.. it just feels like your building it because its all there is to offer to build in those types of games. you dont really care about your build you just want walls up etc.

There are other games out there where you can build structures, but they have no satisfaction when you make them. they have no personal feelings attached to them. They are just things you build in the game and you never think about them again.

In rising world, this just doesnt apply and im so glad that building in rising world feels like something you can call your own. It feels accomplishing. It feels satisfactory. It feels like its yours. It feels like you made it and your proud of it. You admire it, you want to share it with other people.

Other building games just dont have that.

Massive name titles with hundreds of thousands of players have never given me a hair of a fraction of a small tiny amount of anything that rising world has given me. Its why i love Rising world so much!

I love to draw and make stuff with Zbrush, autocad, heck even ms paint is great now and then, This game offers everything you can do with a program but in video game mode and i think that's what makes this game so special to me.

The absolute parameters you can go up and down by, the increments you can customize to any size you want, you can rotate it on any axis, stretch and skew it any way, you can even make blocks or entities change their shape to make anything you can possibly imagine. I honestly feel like i have the ability to make any shape i want and place it in the world, i feel like i can make anything i put my mind to . Heck ive even made vehicles, toys, what is there that you cannnot make in this game!!!!! Anything and everything!!!!!!

Red, Never let someone tell you otherwise, this game is one of a kind. Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to this game.

Couldn't have said it better! Rising world really is a great game!

I've tried out many games in my youth even ones with open persistent worlds and didn't find the one for me until I found this one, combat is fun but like many things it becomes a phase. This game goes beyond Minecraft to create what I call an 'ideal virtual world' which combines blogging and gaming into one and that is because of Red51, if people yammer about metaverses or whatever then we are already playing in it. This game rocks!

Personally I think a part of the brilliance of the building system is that you can build things as simplistically and/or complexly as you want to and every varying degree between that can all be used together seamlessly.

There's definitely a few more block shapes that need to be added to the game and a few existing ones that need to be added to some materials yet, but aside from that you can pretty much manipulated all of the shapes into whatever form you need without having this huge menu full of pages of ever block shape, that makes it a lot less intimidating right from the start.

When I first started playing the Unity version I was very much building everything Minecraft style, and now the more I've gotten into learning the building system and what you can do with the more advanced features of it I keep going back and changing things and seeing the progression of how it started to how it turns out in the end is more satisfying than building some giant blocky thing in the other building games.

I agree building in this game is unmatched and it is really a great game.
Keep up the wonderful work you and your team are doing.
Looking forward to the rest of your vision for survival, crafting and exploration.

I have come to avoid any Blocky looking games. I have waited too many years for a game as beautiful as this one and for PC's that can run a game like this.

Happy Gaming :steamhappy:

i agree! i think in the java version i just did minecraft style cuz i was overwhelmed, but somehow i found it much easier in unity and whether you do simpler stuff with just basic snapping and resizing, or get indepth with rotation and clipping, you can make literally anything you want and it'll look amazing. hell, i've found that it's easier to make stuff in this game and export it than it is to make models in actual modeling programs! (especially blender, my god that thing is a pain to learn)

i still love the survival and exploration too, the world in unity is so beautiful and the more indepth/realistic crafting and such are so fun. but it's wild to me how few games have as great of modeling/building as this one does, you really could sell just flat empty creative mode as its own game and people would probably love it.

Whelp I kept wondering when you were going to get your revenge for a couple of jokes I've made with you, now I know......you just had to mention Blender......AAAAAARRRRRGGGGG!!!!! LOL

About ten years ago I worked for over a year with one of the dev studios that has their game on steam. I was more leading a group of volunteer modders, doing concept models and 2D graphics, that sort of thing. I could churn out concept models in Google Sketchup quick af but the other 3D modelers kept saying I should learn blender and how great it is, blah, blah.

I still shudder every time I see Blender mentioned. lol

You can lose yourself for hours in the building on this game, need to take a break and instead of quitting the game find yourself lost in the beauty of the game world. I still do the majority of my building in survival mode and just use creative when I need certain tools and there's been so many times that I've needed to get more materials and find myself side tracked way longer than needed to get those materials, and then it's just like okay time to stop playing around and get back to work.

The different aspects of the game all have their own draw and do so so completely seamlessly unlike so many other games.

for real. so many games force you to choose between a few mediocre systems but this one you can so easily switchup the mechanics any time. tired of building? go hunting. tired of of hunting but not ready to do a detailed build? do a simple one, or go mining. don't have the energy to do anything yourself? go into fly mode and just explore the world, or go to the forums and browse and enjoy other people's creations. just so good.

and yeah. ♥♥♥♥ blender. like yeah it's amazing that it's free and so powerful, but neither of those really matter much when it's so unintuitive that you have to pay for tons of classes just to do the most basic ♥♥♥♥ in it.

I have a larger pond I created with a guess you'd call it a meditation house next to it surrounded by trees and there's been several times I've found myself taking a break down there listening to the water and the rain while drinking a cup of coffee. Soooo freaking relaxing and not something I've ever done with any other game.

Completely agree. It's why I keep playing this game.

The ability to build (almost) anything (I'm nowhere as good as some players at adding 'tricky' bits), to change the landscape in creative mode, to have anything from a tiny hut to a whole town is what continues to amaze me.

Best building game ever :)

Totally agree about the construction system being the best anywhere... but forget about survival??? I just can't do that! :) I still need a challenge and reason to build strong buildings for defense against the elements.

Going to play devils advocate for a moment... as great as the construction system is, unfortunately, not every gamer out there is an artist, and to really use the system, you need artistic talent to really push it to it's limit. That's a rare combination of gamer and artist, and you guys are some of the best out there. No doubt about that. Your creations are incredible.

But that's why RW needs survival. There are a lot more survival gamers out there and that's a market that RW can't ignore, because it was already in the java version for one reason. Most players are just going to build a hole in the wall, or slap a few blocks together to build a quick survival shelter, maybe add a few more things, make it bigger, and maybe even some players will find an urge to develop their artistic side. Most will just make do with the system as best they can. It's a huge credit to Red for having creating a system that can be used simply or as complex as anyone wants.

That concludes our advocate moment. You may now resume your praise of the construction system. :D

Okay.....you get half a point credit for your devil's advocate presentation....half point deducted because you mention the not so artistic people, but forgot to mention the blueprints system has that mostly taken care of for them. lol :P

When there is three of you it works really well. One the builder myself, another the landscaper my daughter Fleasel and a guy called Bobcat who collects all the materials needed and saves us from being eaten by the bears. Many games you can build a house but just to look at. In this one you can all sit on the chairs at the table or sit together outside on the bench to watch the sunset. It ticks all the boxes for us. :steamhappy:

I don't consider that a big plus yet because it's not supported in game. If it was, then the blueprint system would be a huge asset to the game. Making people go to the forums to find them, download them and put them in the right place is a bit taxing and most people will never know that it exists. I hope Red comes up with a way to make them available in solo and MP modes of the game so people can use them at will, no matter how they want to play.

If this was a Steam only game then the easiest way would be to just use the Steam Workshop for blueprints, but that doesn't work in this case since there's a standalone version of the game as well.

I have some furniture type blueprints that I've posted and when through and listed a block type and count for each one so survival players at least know what materials to take out of their inventory to make it fair using blueprints for now.

The original plan for RW was 3-fold: Building, Exploration & Survival. I agree, Building is well done and it seems that more is to be added to it still. However, lets not forget Survival & Exploration. Assuming the same quality work will be going into Survival & Exploration in the upcoming months, RW will be unmatched.
