And I do not see it that way. Had it been advertised that way, I would -never- have purchased it. If that's how it'll end up, I'll simply open a ticket for a refund. That's where Red is right now - between a rock and a hard place.
I must admit that I was also working on a few new features, but that's only relevant for the update after the store page update.
oooh good to hear! a delay would have been understandable with the delicate nature of the update, but i'm excited we are getting it this month still!
also understandable to mix up your workflow. sometimes just hitting your head against the same problem over and over makes it take even longer than if you let yourself take a break to work on something else for a bit!
I'd recommend then putting out a pre-release update note that gives instructions for backing up saves/worlds, blueprints, etc. Invariably *someone* is going to lose something, but if they know how to make a manual backup because they were informed, it's less hassle for everyone. If it's in a forum sticky and not a News item, a lot of people will miss it - needs to be in the News.
The other day I came across a post in the news about a generative network for 3D modeling, Hunyuan 3D 2.0, I haven't tested it myself yet, but maybe it will come in handy...))
It used to take longer just to load up whichever 3D modeling program I was about to use and turn on my digital drawing tablet than it takes that thing to create and uvmap a whole freaking 3D model.
I know Tencent has more money than they know what to do with, but releasing that open source has to just be as a giant F YOU to the rest of the world that talks ♥♥♥♥ about China.
The U.S. if they could dump out corporate red tape should take a page from that with their own open source high end thing. It is always the nations with the most influence that get dumped on the most and has been since the Roman Empire, not that it isn't earned, still.
a US company set aside corporate greed and do something like that open source....yeah that'll never happen...well not without some really small print or some way for them to profit off of it. lol
My guess with Tencent is they figure releasing it open source is a great way to say F you we can do technically advanced even with your restrictions on chips and that it'll end up paying for itself in the long run because of the reduced costs of asset creation for their games division.
