What is there to do in this game?
Before I buy this game for my boyfriend and I, I wanna know what there is to do in this game and I thought the best people to ask would be the community. ^w^
Go ahead and leave anything, absolutely anything, that you have done in the game in here.

From the looks of the screenshots it's just building. Is there more to it than that or is that the only thing you really do? x3

for now there will be survival and such later on it's just in alpha and moves slow because we only have one dev that take good care of the game that means he tries to make the game as fun and stable as possible and listens to the comunity

Bear in mind this is alpha. There is hunger and thirst but at the moment easy to manage. There are animals that will attack you (bears, tigers and loads of others) there are animals that will attack you if you hit them and animals just to hit cause you want food. Fall too far you'll break your leg and also bleeding has just been added (need to make bandages)

You do not need to build to survive but recently dungeons have been added so you can explore. At the moment it is more building than survival but this is changing with every update. For example in the future weather will effect you so you need clothes.

If you are looking for pure survival this is not for you yet..........but it will be and if you want to help it on its way and help with the testing and even have an input then buy it now :) (that was a lot of ands in that sentence)

Edit: and this has one of the best (nicest) communities on steam that are helpful, Red51 the dev is very active on the forums and he does listen to what we say.

If you like Minecraft, Rising World is the best bet.
this game is WAY better then minecraft and looks a lot better also, and if you play online, i recommend the Serenity server, lots of land, fun, tons to explor, not to mention, some really huge and cazy builds going on

Can I make my own private session? I really wanna get this game so my boyfriend and I can play. And if I can, how is the latency? He's in Brazil and I'm in the states, so some games lag but some don't.

people on that server are from all over the world, lag isn't to bad, if gets bad they reset the server and things are smooth, even with avg15 people on at once it runs great, if you go into town it can get laggy, but they have some huge buildings and markets there to buy/sell stuff

you can play lan, singleplayer, multiplayer .... semi multiplayer by using lan and hamachi or setup your own server private or public

Markets? Now this is interesting. Is there a formal currency in the game or has your server established one? I'd like to hear more about it.

the server has a currency, buy and sell wood, ores, ingots or tools, if you have a big farm you can buy a shop to sell your crops and stuff

Mods. Everyone knows Vanilla Minecraft is crap unless you are 5 years old. It is the mods and modability. Kind of dead now, but I bet you weren't around back in the Golden Age of Modding, those were the days...

I have to disagree with Minecraft being boring without mods. It's all about perspective on that part. You can still do a lot without mods, yet mods spoil you rotten that you tend to expect more. I managed to have fun on vanilla, then hopped on modding..... Constant back and forth that it's been fun. Granted, I miss the Turtle (Mining Turtle) from the modding pack that I'd love to see that in Rising World via NPCs, or a RW version of that 'Turtle'. Pixelmon was fun with flying Pokemon, something I wish Rising World would inspire from using dragons. Also, Traincraft was awesome by adding trains, something we'll see in various forms.

But yeah, A basic 'technical' pack from 'Feed The Beast' is a good comparison for Rising World what it shall have in a more 'realstic' sense. Actual survival, surviving the elements, warding off illneses & disease as you go from primitive Medieval to modern era technology. Going from sticks & stones to pickaxes & then jack hammers and such.

We'll have horses, camels, and even various sorts of trains. If you've checked out Conan Exiles or even Medieval Engineers then I'm sure you can expect elements from there (furniture & decoratives) being found from there in Rising World, and properly placed in their two ages you progress through..You'll even be able to stream videos in Rising World, similar to how it's done in 'Tower Unite'.......I guess Tower Unite (another game) could be a good example of how modern era would be in Rising World when setting up your apartment in there.

When Rising World is tweaked properly you'll have a more immersive time with it as you go from Medieval era to modern era fun while making sure not to die from illnesses, diseases, and even keeping their temperature in check. Food shall be something you'll have to preserve also to not spoil, or spoil as quickly.

Rising World is a beast of a game on paper that I can't wait to see each update adding more on paper into the game.
