Pathfinder - Default shotgun
Why come I have to shoot everything at point-blant range 4-6 times before they die? Raptors and Cryos are the new Carnos or did they nerf the default shotgun? My aim's not the problem, but when you have to shoot a pouncing raptor 4 times at point-blank range, there's a problem.

If you meant to that remington"ish" shotty, yes it's definiately feels weaker now, but the Spas feels balanced and feels good to use now. :)

I have a theory on it. Headshot damage was removed from the shotguns because it was OP against Carnos. However whenever you shot a raptor pre-halloween update you were pretty much guaranteed to land some pellets on the headshot marker thus making it usually a close range two hit kill on a raptor. Since it has been removed you will no longer get headshot damage, increasing the amount of shots needed to kill.

It is annoying because now everyone runs around with the AR noob tube

I see. You may be right on that. Also, the AR Noob-tubing is ruining the game for me. Even more so now seeing the increased its range and damage, basically turning it into mini-nukes. This is not Fallout for crying out loud!

Default Shottie actually did get a nerf. Its effective range(distance at which it does full dmg) has been decreased and its max dmg has been decreased to 200 dmg from 240 dmg. It's pretty easy to adjust to, you kill most small classes in two shots up close. Headshot dmg was removed back in 1.5. The fact that it took that many shots to kill a raptor means the spread was working against you and some pellets missed.

Shotguns were never supposed to have a headshot bonus in the first place, it wasn't removed because it was "OP against carnos," it was removed (again! this was the second time) because it was not intentional and made a broken weapon.

At least the Tube-jumping was removed thanks to the increased range and self damage. You will not gonna finally see Commandos running in the roofs shooting everybody.

Default shotgun takes two direct hits to kill a novaraptor, if you want an instant kill that's what the double barrel is for.

Damn. It looks like I will actually have to deal with it when I get salty at sniper now and not just go to pathy and blow things away anymore. XD

I kinda wanna see dbb now after the patch though. Maybe less op now. :D

Not expecting One-shots from it. But either it's bad connection or my shooting has gone downhill in the last few months. Just doesn't seem correct that, when you body shoot a raptor a couple of times and it just keeps running. Guess I'll have to experiment, but habbits are bad to break, and I've always used to Default shootie :3

Okay, last night I went 18-5 this gun is hard to put your finger and say where it stands. I sort of wish it was stronger but shotties could be placed like this:
Acro: SPAS
Spino: Double barrel
Rex: Pump action
If the one shot is a issue to break us pump users the resolve I guess is an axe to the face and a shot to get a kill. Or Pump+Machete is a guaranteed point.
