Can´t play this with a Controller alone
Okay, I really tried a few things but nothing helped. Every time I try to use a controller in this game I just can move two players. It´s only possible to play alone with mouse and keyboard but the controlls sucks. I just want to play ot alone with my controller :/

Oh, well yeah. Windows doesn't have a generic API for Nintendo controller drivers. If I were you, and my heart was set on using the Nintendo controller. I'd probably use X360CE, which can be found on github. It will do all those API calls, not as well as a proper driver. But good enough to play smoothly. I've had issues with a contemporary Play Station controller, and X360CE has always made things work mostly. JoyToKey has also worked mostly reliably when I wasn't happy with X360CE. Give those a try.

Steam says it has full controller support. What kind of controller are you using? And is it a brand name controller or a generic controller?

I use a controller from Nintendo. (Nintendo Switch).
Later I tried it again with an xbox controller and it worked. So it seems Moon Hunters doesn´t want to work with my switch con. It´s sad, because I don´t like the Xbox controllers.

I've been playing with a Rock Candy brand Xbox 360 controller and have had no issues.

Listen up, here's how you play SOLO with a controller if you haven't found a solution yet. When you open the game, only use the controller, move towards the new game or loading, continue using the controller. Do not use the keyboard AT ALL and it won't input a second player. I often play with my Xbox360 controller, it's very fluid and fun! I hope this helps.

I tried to play it with a nintendo switch controller. And I really don´t hit any button on my keyboard or mouse. I actually tried to unplug both of them and only use my controller. Same problem. I think the game just don´t like the switch controller. After I used an Xbox controller everything worked fine. But all in all, thanks for your answer :)

Oh. Right. You do need to use your preferred input method when the game launches. I negelected to clarify that. Hopefully the RNJesus of SEO likes this thread. So it will be useful to people in the far off future with the same questions!
