Are there any plans for adding in mod support?

I feel like the game has every feature designed out, but it is lacking some extra variety.
It would be nice to have the ability to design our own characters, levels (or parts of levels), or just a complete new type of story alltogether (as in new decisions to be made, new map types and possibly new endings?).

I'm certain it would be a hell to make it work with multiplayer but it would add so much more value to the game.

I may be a pirate, but a tiny extra variety (at least 1-2 extra characters) would 100% make me buy the game on the spot.

I would be happy with a change to the shop so all upgrades are available all the time. It's so frustrating getting to the end up of a playthrough with 300+ opals and constantly seeing the upgrades I already bought at the shop.

Or at least a change to purchased upgrades can't show up in the shop again later in the same playthrough.
