Linux Support?
Hello,

Was wondering if there were any plans for Linux support? Thanks for doing that in the past!

Hey there! Indeed we're planning to get the game to Linux as well. I hope I am going to see you playing it in Early Access later this year, telling us if the Linux version works as expected. :)
Great! I'll be on the lookout for it

That's fantastic, I did email when the game was announced but was told basically a decision had not been made on it. I am very pleased to see this now!
Indeed, it is a quite fresh decision. :)
And it's a pretty great decision! :D

I agree! <3
Three things I want to say.
1- First thanks for the Steam release.
2- Then considering Linux for you game.
3- I will keep an eye on those coop options, Im looking for a game to play coop against CPU/AI controlled enemies, maybe a whole campaign. Why? Starcraft took a lot of my life time just to get a decent level to stand against good (not pro) players, but I dont want to suffer that experience again, so if you can consider to release your RTS with many casual stuff like coop campaign, that would be an instabuy for me.

Thanks again!! :cozybethesda:

Great news! Does this also mean that we will have cross-platform multiplayer? No segregation from Windows please. <3

I can't think of a reason why not. Are there actually games that separate players by OS? That's surprising to me.

It seems harder to do than one would imagine. An example I remember is having absolutely the same math on both ends so local differences don't sum up. Same RNG might be another one. The most important Linux porting house, Feral, once did a write-up about this.
Thanks, appreciated! I guess I have to show that to our dev team. I'll come back to that later.
The central point IMHO is this:

"Strategy games often use a deterministic networking model, only player inputs are sent across the network and we rely on a deterministic simulation on all peers to get the same game state."

If you do it differently (servers reporting back), the problems shouldn't apply.
