I got that notion with the ending of part 2 and the "what if" started in my brain. What if there were never real triplets, what if that is the "soul parted in 3"?! What if Elizabeth is the patient in the sanatorium herself? What if it never really burned down? What if she is still there, under treatment?
But then again, I'm just speculating myself.
Love this theory! lots of what if, and some of them never occur to me, like the mother being the patient and this all never happened. it has all been playing in her mind ever since she discovered the cemetery beneath the house.
This theory started to brew in my head after the second part and after playing the demo. It had a bit of this "Shutter Island"-vibe. I don't know if you ever saw that movie.
I thnk that the grandfather discovered that Charles Lancaster impragnant Elizabeth trough magic (or something), and which they treaten to leave the house the Lancasters they couldn't control it anymore, which is why they murdered him
Close.. not Lancaster, but Laudius. And yes - you might be right. Many things point in that direction.
