Game is not starting
Sorry guys, I know this is an awesome effort to port an awesome game. However, there are technical isues.

Linux Debian, 64 Gb RAM, i7 8 cores, 64b architecture but compatible with 32bit binaries. Nvidia 341 Driver and Linux Kernel 4.15

Requesting refund, but good luck on fixing graphical problems!!!!

What exactly is the issue you have? I run that game on Fedora 64 bit, and have done so with an asortment of drivers, my main suspicion would be the driver as it is a fairly old one, but more importantly, what is the GPU it drives? With such specs, I'd be guessing a Quadro or other highend. You also did not mention what version of Debian?

For the most part I've had that game run on a variety of Linux systems besides my main rig, for instance on my laptop with multiple disttibutions ranging from Ubuntu Mate, Manjaro, Mint, Knoppix, etc, so while personally I do not run (or like) Debian proper, I've run a few distros based on it, and with both dedicated GFX (optimus... GTX950) and IGP (intel HD4600). I had to make sure to have all 32-bit compat libs installed, of course! And I used rhis game JUST because as its only requirement is OpenGL 3.3 compliance (mesa was a bit tricky to get going back in the days, due to incomplete GL 3 support).

My driver is ok, works ok with all my 150 games. The driver I'm using is NVIDIA 384 for a GE Force GT 750M. Im not the only one having startup problems either. I'm aware that many of my friends using linux have no complains about the game. However, for me, it does not start (binary running and no splash screen) no errors executing via command line.

I see, does the executable resolve properly all library links? Are you using the Steam Runtime? Sorry for so many questions, this is how ldd looks like in my system.:

ldd GrimFandango linux-gate.so.1 (0xf7fa7000) libLua.so => ./libLua.so (0xf7f77000) libchore.so => ./libchore.so (0xf7f6d000) libsteam_api.so => ./libsteam_api.so (0xf7f5a000) libSDL2-2.0.so.1 => ./libSDL2-2.0.so.1 (0xf7e3c000) libpthread.so.0 => /lib/libpthread.so.0 (0xf7df0000) libGL.so.1 => /lib/libGL.so.1 (0xf7d8e000) libGLU.so.1 => not found libX11.so.6 => /lib/libX11.so.6 (0xf7c3d000) libstdc++.so.6 => /lib/libstdc++.so.6 (0xf7aad000) libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0xf79ab000) libgcc_s.so.1 => /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 (0xf798b000) libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0xf77e7000) libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0xf77e2000) /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0xf7fa9000) libGLX.so.0 => /lib/libGLX.so.0 (0xf77bf000) libXext.so.6 => /lib/libXext.so.6 (0xf77a9000) libGLdispatch.so.0 => /lib/libGLdispatch.so.0 (0xf774a000) libxcb.so.1 => /lib/libxcb.so.1 (0xf771d000) libXau.so.6 => /lib/libXau.so.6 (0xf7718000)

Is ok, I appreciate a lot the help. However, now is too late, but I really appreciate the kindness!

Well, if Steam does not work, it may be worth a try on GoG when it is on sale... I'm kind of a die hard fan, so I have it on Steam, GoG and PS4... at any rate, hope you will be able to enjoy it, if not now, hopefully in the future.

thetargos: Yeah man, Full Throttle, Grim Fandango, all Lucas Arts games from that epoch are amazing. I remember them with a lot of love. LucasArts made quite amazing games back in the time. I hope I can work around my technical issues, thanks for the help!!!!
