Hope someone can answer about the Steam Deck (I haven't used it personally). My concern is that it is an older game no longer supported to the point it can only be downloaded if you've already had it before.
Arena is a mobile port with no controller support/controls and horrible presentation imo.
Duels and duel of the planeswalkers had a perfect presentation where you can could see the board just like in real life with some digital enchancements.
The problem with it not working on the deck is not the devs support, it's more along the lines of someone figuring out what is lacking with the proton configuration of this game that makes it work on linux just like on windows.
Plenty of old games without ongoing support work perfectly on linux and steam deck with some tinkering/configuration.
I'm currently playing the old duels games to get all the achievements(the online ones might be hard, I don't even know if online still works on those games).
Hope someone figures it out as whatever would get this working might help other games too. If you ever figure out a fix, even outside of suggestions in Steam, please share with the rest of us.
The old games I pop on when I just want to dink around. Haven't tried online matchmaking in some time on those. At least this one online still works for sure, though I have noticed in recent months more and more players with just boxes for their names (I think that means a name in a language my system doesn't support).
Does the 2011 (Gold Game Bundle) one work as well?
(unlisted to the point I can't even link it anymore I guess)

Yes it existed. I had the demo, but before I decided to purchase it WotC/Stainless Games had it unlisted. Remember all the yearly versions were removed after those two split ways and WotC focused on Arena and spin-offs.
That was the first Duels of the Planeswalker. Launched in 2010 but for the 2011 fiscal year (which is the same launch/naming for all the others).
Apparently I got the partial link to work for reference.
