How do you quick drop smoke bombs for quick escapes?

Still haven't figured this out.
I saw the tip once on a loading screen, but it does not seem to work.
I always aim far away, never close when throwing it quickly.

Haven't figured out this one either, literally shows in tip but the game doesn't even bother to teach us lmao, haven't found any proper method anywhere.

When you have smoke bombs selected, briefly holding right mouse button and pressing quick throw (G) drops the bomb at your position.

I am using gamepad. Any suggestion how to do it there?

If you're using an xbox controller, left trigger + right shoulder quick throws whatever throwing item you've got equipped. For smokebombs this throws one down at your feet.

The weird thing is that when I do that she aims normally, even when doing it quickly (I am using a Nintendo Switch gamepad btw, but I doubt that matters).

There's a quick throw button go check your config to see what it is. You'll also need the perk too.
