Next thread.
But when you say LEFT in Japanese and you translate it as RIGHT in English, thats a problem.
There are many intentionally wrong translations .. and it doesnt even make sense because its their game, they made the English and Japanese text, audio. So why? Well I know why but still .. why?!
Probably the most known translation goes wrong in this game is Yasuke the Samurai in English, but it is Yasuke the servant in Japanese .. even later in the game when already in samurai armor. Oda calls him his servant, not samurai. But when you switch to English or turn on subs, it is "samurai".
So Ubisoft did not turn him into samurai for JP version. Why? Again, I know why, but still .. why?!
I understand Japanese a bit, so many mistakes, wrong translations.
Plus the characters are not update for JP dabbing, so when they speak, its even worse. Its just like a poor movie dabbing.
And you cannot call that "immersive" if its just very poor dabbing version.
Plus some voice are not even Japanese, you can hear that they are native English speaking people who just can speak Japanese very well.
They do often say different things between the English subtitles and the spoken Japanese.
That said, Yasuke is sometimes referred to as samurai and sometimes retainer or servant in game. Not always the same in English and Japanese at a given time.
