I think having dual protagonists is a great idea. And for chuds who are about to rant at me about Yasuke, he actually existed even Japanese historians agree. It's not woke to have him, and really woke isn't actually a thing it's just the word y'all use to try to cover for your bigotry.

It also seems like they are going the route of having fewer side quests and a billion minimap markers, similar to the first four games. Plus with Naoe you can go back to the stealth based gameplay of those games.

It's looking like it will successfully merge the two eras of Assassins Creed

Think its going to land somwhere in between veilguard and kcd 2 in terms of sales. Its not gonna fail as bad as veilguard but its also not going to be close to kcd in terms of success. I think the franchise will survive but the Valhalla formulae is just much more popular then the older one.

Black flag is still(in my opinion) part of the new ac games. Open world rpg with sailing and stuff. Lots and lots of collectibles. There are plenty of "be an assassin" games out there and lets be honest - they arent really that popular.

the general consensus that i have seen is that he definitely existed but was almost certainly not a samurai. if he were it would have been in title only. for example, elton john was knighted by queen elizabeth i believe. in 50 years should we expect to see a ubisoft game where a 60+ year old sir elton john is slaughtering lessers from horseback while singing "candle in the wind"?

Ive played and i own every single AC game and this is the first one i'm likely going to skip(at least i wont buy on release). And no - it has nothing to do with Yasuke.

i'm only buying it because I love the Japanese setting along with stealth. Before you tell me get Ghost of Tsushima, shut up. That game is just a plain field of nothingness and stealth inst AC level of stealth.

IDC about woke, IDC about DEI, IDC about Ubisoft or what they do or any other games they make. IDEC about most of the AC games.

In the end people will still buy it because at the moment there is no other game out there that is a DIRECT competition and only partial elements of it:
-GOT: Samurai combat aspect is the only thing you can really compare for and tbh I do think GOT does it better at least with the katana hence Ubisoft decided to add more weapon choices

-Rise of the Ronin: Comparative in the setting of the game only, stealth and combat is entirely different

The closest game I can think of to this is an Indie game called Aragami 2 but again its not by a triple A studio and lacks any realistic graphic.

Not a slop enjoyer I literally don't even enjoy any games ubisoft made apart from AC black flag, Origins and excited for Shadows although cannot say much until I've played it.
