I think having dual protagonists is a great idea. And for chuds who are about to rant at me about Yasuke, he actually existed even Japanese historians agree. It's not woke to have him, and really woke isn't actually a thing it's just the word y'all use to try to cover for your bigotry.

It also seems like they are going the route of having fewer side quests and a billion minimap markers, similar to the first four games. Plus with Naoe you can go back to the stealth based gameplay of those games.

I think that's ultimately the goal. The people who liked the new trilogy aren't the same as the people who liked the old games, and they recognize that. Meeting somewhere in the middle and having a strong fighter as well as a stealth option gives both fans their desires.

I only watched a couple of video distractedly while at work (oopsie, daisie), but the game does look awesome and with groundbreaking gameplay and gorgeous graphics! :)

As for the dual protagonist thing, meh, every Assassin Creed has it with a different twist every time. I couldn't care less, but I guess some people like it?
(yea, yea, some people dislike it apparently, but I am quite convinced those "haters" are just swamp trolls, so really, everyone that matters either like it or simply care not either way)
