me? i don't have a problem.
i'm just saying nonbinary is not male or female, therefore, cannot be gay.
and again, syndicate also had a nonbinary character.
once again, no one cared then.
how's that? when Japan deliberated on it because it's disrespectful and the prime minister isn't happy, for various reasons over the game.
show me your source for numbers on it being a top seller in Japan?
The main reason the game went to the Diet was because there were copyrighted shrines and depictions of them being destroyed, which was allegedly fixed on the Day 1 patch.
Oda Nobunaga himself, who the real figure Yasuke (https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E5%BC%A5%E5%8A%A9, if you won't take Wikipedia as a source, you can see the bottom of the page where it links to the actual book sources.) served, likely had a relationship with Mori Ranmaru, and gender was not so clear-cut in those times as it is to Western society these days.
You can read more about that here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homosexuality_in_Japan
But go ahead and erase actual history.
Other games don't pretend to be culturally sensitive and historically accurate then proceed to commit faux pas after faux pas. you'd have to be a racist to support ubisoft which sounds like you are.
well tbh, progress for the sake of progress is wrong, but progress that benefits everyone, is good.
but yes, Japan doesn't seem to happy about this and with current state of things, i don't think they are going to shrug it off.
"Fake outrage" has closed quite a few woke studios recently, just saying.
Veilguard was made by one studio. And it was a bad game, with poorly written dialogue. Point still stands, fake outrage only lasts a week.
SS:KtJL, That one Hero shooter I can't even remember the name anymore, Alan Wake, Spiderman 2, smaller games like dustborn but let's focus on AAA budget games, Forspoken, Avowed, SW:Outlaws, and the list goes on. Outrage works insofar as informing the consumer of what they are going to buy, and they will then not buy it. All I'm saying is that there is enough consumer sentiment to make a difference. It's still early to say but for an AC game, selling bellow 10 mil units total would be pretty abysmal and I'm sure we can both agree.
DEFINITELY NOT UBISOFT, ITS SHAREHOLDERS, OR SUBSIDIARIES.
ALL OF THE ABOVE LOVE JAPAN, JAPANESE CULTURE, AND THEIR VAST LGTBIQIA2S+ COMMUNITIES!
