My pre-load took 2 hours to unzip, and has now been "installing" for an hour.

Just delete and reinstall, I know it sounds dumb but it’s actually a lot faster. Preloading games on steam always takes forever to unpack :scmitsukipout:

Was doing that for me. I closed Steam and then opened it again and it worked

unless you have GIGGA slow internet, then pre installing isnt ever worth it. Its only there for people that have really bad internet, and cant afford to get fast internet.

unpacking depends on your cpu and storage speed

Thanks for your help everyone. I force closed steam with task manager, then re-opened it. It now plays.
