Game also wasn't suppose to launch yet.
The game technically hasn't "launched" yet, it launched early so I'm sure a lot of people aren't even expecting it to be out yet.

Its the middle of the night in Europe. Many people buy it via Ubi Connect or Epic. And the majority of the playerbase is on console either way.
Yikes that is lower than I thought for a New Assassin's Creed game. Anyone have the numbers for Odyssey, Valhalla, and Origins?

Monster Hunter WIlds had close to 200,000 current players the last time I looked, and that game has been out for what? Three weeks? If Ubisoft can't even get close to that, they're cooked.

Multiplayer vs. Single player

I know you can figure out why MH Wilds would hold longer.

That game was just ♥♥♥♥. So, let's try again, great game vs. bad game. Go on, you can figure it out. I believe in you.
people on here making excuses for the low player counts. While MHW launched with 1 million players worldwide.

MH Wilds is pretty much everything you described in your post and it was also launched late at night, but unlike Ac Shadow it had 800k players connected at launch.
That's definitively not the reason why there are so few players.
Give it a day and I say this only because games don't usually release at this hour. That said. DA:veilguard a game that was received poorly and resulted in firings preformed better than this in it's first few hours.

If they cannot beat Veilguards Day 1 numbers, which AC:shadows has an estimated development cost of 100-150m more than it cost Veilguard to make, it's GG for Ubisoft and the IP.

It also had over 1 million players within 48 hours of its release. And, even in its half-assed state, starving for content, still sits at 200k 2-3 weeks later like you said, in the middle of the week.
Yep that was pretty crazy, within a few hours I saw the player count reach 1 million+ players.

Having 14k shows that they're not doing too bad, it probably translates to around 50k total sale for this game across all platforms

There will probably be lots more people buying this game on this year and next year's Christmas sale
