Yasuke was a samurai
Yasuke being a samurai is a well-known fact, but given that there are still alt-right incel revisionists denying history, I figured I'd drop some receipts so that others can share them easily.

As the first foreign-born samurai, he is honestly a fascinating character.

Yasuke was a Samurai as much as Bob Geldof is a Knight and Marcus Rashford a Doctor.

Japan's lead expert on the Sengoku period, long before AC was even a thing, said that he was a Samuria.

If you have any expert on this specific period of Japan's history superior to Yu Hirayama then please let us know.
Racists mad af.

I love how everything these people don't like has to be alt-right.
Facts are now "alt-right" if they don't like the truth. It's ridiculous.
What facts?
The lack of facts I should say. There is no definitive proof either way.

Yes of course. Must be racism.

I read stuff like this post and am reminded what weirdo obsessives people are. First of all, millions of us are obsessed with silly dopamine loop moving pixel reward systems which DO NOTHING for us in the real world. For all our time spent playing video games, we could learn a real world skill, help someone with their lives, or endeavor to do more than just sit in front of a screen.

So I go to see what's being discussed and its one 300 lbs angry team versus the other 300 lbs angry team. Did it ever occur to you guys to start taking care of yourselves, stop obsessing over such trivial nonsense, and start doing better with your lives? Have you ever wondered for how many hundreds or thousands of hours you've spent clicking pixels, that you have wasted that time to do anything else that would be more productive?

Are we just lumps sitting idly by with our only goal in life to be entertained until we're fat and die of heart failure from all our sitting? Is that the kind of life you want to live? One where you find it so important to prove to people whether a black guy was a Samurai or not? This is what your guy's lives have amounted to? Bickering on the internet over a video game? That's your peak performance metric is it? What a waste.

Bob Geldof is a Knight and was given a Knighthood so in future kids will think he had a sword and shield when it is a title awarded by the monarch. The same for doctorates awarded by Universitys to footballers for charity work they get the title doctor. What likely happened was Yasuke was given the honorary title.

Samurai is a social class above the peasants but below the lord an they live and train for all thier life. Now was Yasuke born in Japan into the warrior class? Or given a title by a lord? Theres a big difference in these especially when Yasuke arrived by ship from Mozambique.

To be a Samurai you need to have a family name attached to you , there is no historical evidence that yasuke had one , none the less he had some high status

under nobunaga which some historics consider be on par as a Samurai or Elite Figure but that doesnt mean that he was defacto a Samurai .

i think people wouldnt had a problem if he was portrayed as a villian or perhaps as a companion or a misterious assassin rather than a main playable character .

alot of word salad and meaningless points been made . people have a right to critique a game or what ever the case may be . if you cant handle some debate or discussion move on and let people brainstorm

You're wrong, there are plenty of skills and other things to learn by playing video games. The simple fact there are so many different types of games makes video games a wonderful learning tool.

There are even studies about how the people who played pokemon as kids are doing better with numbers than those who didn't.

There's plenty of social skills to get by playing video games, whether it's a solo RPG or a MMORPG that requires you to work with other people.

And video games are one of the reasons i'm fluent in English, despite how useless what we got taught in school was.

So instead of separating IRL skills, it would be a lot more useful to actually take a look at what video games taught you and what you can still learn from it.

You have not answered my question, do you have an expert on the Sengoku period who has more knowledge than Yu Hirayama?

No... Anything you say after that is irrelevant. Your opinion on this matter is irrelevant because you have not spent 40 plus years studying this time period and specific part of History.
If Yasuke is a samurai - then I’m a Russian ballerina of African origin with British bloodline and dancing in front of everyone with an American flag draped over myself promoting McDonalds and Subway. 😂
You're an idiot.
None of those sources are credible.
The game will not make a profit.
Deal with it.

Did Yu Hirayama actually found something that states Yasuke being a samurai? Or is it just assumption via "stipend" etc.?

Unless you got a time machine, everything from history is just an assumption based on some remains we got from then. There's no actual proof for anything that can be considered as absolute, it will always be biased from both the historians and from the person who left the statement in the first place.

I'm just laughing in advance thinking about what random assumptions the next civilisation will have about ours, considering how wild information became.
