Denuvo, Ubisoft account and agreeing to them monitoring your RAM
I am honestly impressed by how much one company can screw itself over.

First we have Denuvo, which in fairness does stop piracy. But it also lowers performance, and should only really be used for games which are already known to be in very high demand. I don't know if this one qualifies. But OK.

Then we have the Ubisoft account. And we all know how everyone loves needing to use that. At least it's not as bad as SONY's account stuff... maybe.

And the cherry on the slop sandwich: they want to monitor your RAM so that they're sure you won't be using cheats? The reason for this is obviously because they want to protect the micro-transactions in the game from cheaters.

So there you go. A 1-2-3 punch combo which would make a game undesirable to many a gamer to begin with. And that's not even taking into account the Yasuke controversy.

Is Ubisoft trying to die?

Stay out of my kernel.

That's why Valve is using Linux, no kernel access allowed there: meaning security and privacy.

I hope Ubisoft players kernel won't get hacked one day...

PS, if people think Denuvo is effecting system performance, then they need to stop gaming on their work laptop.

Why ? You know the source code of Denuvo and what Denuvo is doing in RAM exactly ? What information does it retrieve ? And for whom ? If its code is secure ? If it's up to date ? You are 100% sure there are no stack overflow and other memory mismanagement ?

Tell us more about that.

Actually no... this is the source https://store.steampowered.com/eula/3159330_eula_0 the Eula in the steam page... if I may copy-paste (with all it's bad formatting):

So yeah, OP is right.. Ubisoft is literally saying "we can look at your machine and monitor how you play our single player game."

♥♥♥♥ them, one more reason I wont buy their ♥♥♥♥ ever again.

Enjoy playing as Yasuke!

"we can look at your machine and monitor how you play our single player game."

Not only that, they monitor EVERYTHING in RAM: meaning other unrelated softwares you are currently using, what your screen is displaying, the sounds, musics, confidential informations in RAM, etc.

Yes, you better go and hide your RAM right now.
Might want to look under your bed as well, just in case a RAM spy is hiding there.

You don't know anything about cybersecurity, right ? Enjoy your credit card/bitcoins being leaked one day.

This game injects little spybots while playing. Source is Bill Gates and Michael Jackson (yes he is alive).

You do realise that the bandwidth to show all that would brick the internet...right? Are you seriously suggesting that they are effectively live streaming, every user, into what? The worlds largest server farm (it would have to be) not only your visual output, but all the stuff the PC does in the background?

there is ZERO reason a single player game should have ANY online requirement to play... much less a login. This is why PSN got so much backlash... and guess what, this should to.

Denuvo sees EVERYTHING in RAM. I'm not saying it is leaking everything. There is a choice that is being made, but unfortunately nobody knows what exactly, because Denuvo isn't transparent.
And nobody knows either if it's Ubisoft or Denuvo who is responsible in case of cybersecurity problem. And i don't trust Ubisoft to be in charge of the cybersecurity of my computer, their games are full of bugs to begin with.

Denuvo and Ubisoft Connect might annoy some, but Ubisoft’s got solid reasons. Denuvo shields Assassin's Creed Shadows—a huge investment—from piracy at launch, and performance gripes are overblown; modern PCs handle it fine, especially with Ubisoft’s optimization chops (think Mirage, Valhalla). The account link? It’s for cross-platform saves, rewards, and a connected experience—small trade-off for big perks. They’re not spying with RAM checks; it’s just anti-cheat to keep things fair. Ubisoft’s bold moves protect their craft, and Shadows proves they’re still a top-tier dev swinging for greatness. Give ‘em credit—it’s paying off!
