Immersive Mode
Looks like we have to play the game on immersive mode / japanese audio to have a decent experience. The ENG DUB is terrible from what i see in some reviews

Nah not reading sub titles f thay, did you see the intro? The priests with yasuke when even in English they speak Portuguese, F Me I couldn't even read the subtitles before the next came up it was thay fast, utterly ridiculous and well pssed me off... Most stupidbthongs they did in this game was give you 1. 5 seconds to read each set of subtitles..

Got no problems to read sub titles, japanese voice is more immersive. I played GoT in english dub, cause it was very well done!

shadows is fine dub, at least they not screaming like 5 year old children every 5 min because they worked up a sweat and heart rate of 140 lol.

Also why do they lock which mode you pick? changing from one to the other is a new game lockout wtf is that?

I tried turning off immersive mode but still only in Japanese with subtitles. How do I get english Dub?

Immersive mode all the way for me. It brings the game to life for me, The English voice overs doesn't do the game justice in AC Shadows. To each their own.

You have to also switch the spoken language back to English after switching the mode.

What's wrong with the English dub? It seems actual Japanese native speakers are talking here, but this still doesn't seem to be enough. :WTFFlorence:

Very rarely does a game do better with English VA than with Japanese VA. Japanese voice work is just on another level. I think I did like Fire Emblem Three Houses' voice work better in English overall, but I can't think of another. (Though they shifted Edelgard to Tara Platt at the last minute, whose work I simply don't care for.)

Nah can't stand it, the high pitched screaming etc is way too unrealistic. They don't talk like thay most of the time irl, sure as hell not having it in my game, nwaaaay tool over the top the screeching all the time. Especially in naine when they have females voicing half the male charecters.
I'd been wondering about this myself, after seeing so many people complain about the voice work. I thought to myself "I bet they're playing with English VO because they can't handle subtitles."

After the intro where the subtitles played at 5x the normal speed, homy f I read semi fast but even I was missing the last few words or a line before they continued, wtf is thay Portuguese talking speed...

Some of it does go by pretty fast, I'll grant you. But personally, I'll always take the option for native language VO with subs if ti's available. I don't mind missing a line or two if the voice performance is markedly better than English dub.

I like English dub, I watch all anime in dub. Just not a fan of the unrealistic over the top Japanese VO in most things. Also I'd rather pay attention nti thay action or scene than reading most of the time. Also to me emotion of English dub is easier to read in native.

Not sure why they lock the choice though to a new hame, why can't we switch it? So strange. Like they don't want people to try both.
English VA is fine overall. I played Two Worlds with the dialogue unmuted and the worst acting in this game would easily be some of the best in that game.
