Seems like lukewarm reviews at best across the board tbh. Luke Stephens, who I *really* don't care for, spent half the verdict explaining that while he shat on the game for an hour, it was a "step in the right direction."

IGN is gracious but that's pretty obvious

Mortismal tore it apart

ACG said it was alright

Not the breakout reviews Ubi was hoping for, I'm sure

They are mixed, but there are lots of praise by the big game journos (that is what they look for, not the smaller and medium sized sites and streamers)

Like most parts (gameplay, performance, etc) but think Yasuke was lacking in terms of gameplay options and story options..

So far most think it is an "OK" game, then we have those that think its not very good at all and then a few that think its the GOTY.. reviews sure are all over the place.

But atleast you will get many different sources to see various aspect of the game.
Yep, agreed, appreciate all the sources. No one person is correct.

Do you have a review that discusses the performance on Steam Deck?

I have not seen that yet. But I assume the performance will be rather decent in this game, that is a personal take from all the reviews seen so far and they all (even those that are critical of the game) praise the performance.

Also I agree that nobody is right or wrong, its always good to have as many sources (to make your own opinion) as possible. Thank you for the reply.

I hope you get to enjoy the game when it release in two days.

There sure is a lot of dislike for Yasuke´s gameplay style.. (not the character !!! and all that odd stuff) I understand why, because I think most wanna go full "ninja" style.

No prob man. If you find one that goes over it, don't hesitate; it getting verified was what made me swipe my card lol. But then Veilguard was the same story and it barely worked on the Deck, so... wary.

What do you think the prevailing opinion is? It seems like everyone enjoys playing as Naoe but Yasuke is mixed. Naoe eventually sheds her reliance on stealth and is able to fight with even the hardest bosses, but Yasuke is always a lumbering (comparatively) character.

Well it is steam deck verified, so I am sure it will be decent enough (not perfect ofc)
But I will be sure to link a review (or performance video on it, if I find one)

From the reviews I have seen, most seem to be mixed about it, but pros for almost all are gameplay (they think its classic AC gameplay and its fun) but most perfer Naoe and her stealth approach, most think Yasuke is much less fun.

Story and character interaction are one of the weakest points (but lets be honest, that is true for most modern AC games)
Seems decent for people that like the AC formula. (its not as big as Vahalla either)

MkIceAndFire has 4.19 million subscribers today. When he first started, I told him to keep up the good work because he was doing a better job than everyone else. Haven't spoken to him since because silence is golden.

YouTubers are egocentric and self-absorbed. They can't get enough of themselves. Superimposing their faces on-screen is the first sign. Purchasing a better microphone is the second.

In the film industry we purchased Sennheiser mics because they were the best. We wanted the actor's voices to sound as clear as possible. Going as far as laying rugs on the ground to stop their feet from making noise.

It's different when a YouTuber purchases a better microphone.

That's not a good thing.

Mort's goty pick is, obviously, not something I agree with lol. But if he liked it enough to put vg as his personal goty, whatever. Mine was sm2. Mort prolly cares as much about my goty as I do about his.

Anyway fr this thread is the most useful one on the board rn, keep it going
