I get the criticism, but why so much HATE?
I’m seriously baffled by the backlash against Assassin's Creed Shadows! We’re talking about an incredible combat system that looks both thrilling and innovative, but some folks act like that doesn’t matter.

And a Japanese setting? That’s a breathtaking choice that adds so much depth to the series! Imagine the amount of cool skins and DLC we will be able to buy! Yet, instead of celebrating the rich cultural backdrop, all I see is criticism. It’s ridiculous!

Now, let's talk about our protagonists—a Black character and a woman. Why is it a problem to have diverse representation? This is about storytelling and broadening perspectives, which enriches the entire gaming experience! Nowdays embracing diversity is not just good, it’s essential, let’s not delude ourselves with regressive thinking!

It’s time to stop the hate and appreciate the progress in gaming! Assasin's Creed Shadows is shaping up to be a phenomenal installment, and we should support it rather than tear it down! This game deserves our exitement, not baseless attacks!

So, you going over to those boards to complain, or you going with hypocrisy?
Why would I go to boards for games that actively say they are based on fiction aka made up? If they want to make up stories by all means go for it. But to say it’s based off any historical facts is where the line is drawn and Japan as a nation already came together and widely denounced the game. So why you’re all trying to argue this when the country the game is literally based on already came out and said the game is not historically authentic is simply crazy and simply a sign of insanity. You know the definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result? That’s all you guys are doing when you comment here.

Way of the samurai and samurai warriors are completely different games LOL keep showing how little you know though. Also “fiction” by definition means made up LOL

So not going to answer the question.
Can you not read? The game is based on fiction therefore them adding yasuke doesn’t matter because again as the devs themselves said it’s fiction

Sticking to a debunked months old talking point. You need to get a new script from your Youtuber du jour.

Again this game is Historical Fiction and is thus telling a fictional story. So if this game is wrong for showing Yasuke as a samurai then the other games are wrong too.

They're stuck on the claim that it's historical fact because they can't understand the nuance of historical people having a fictional story written about them. It's the grift that their favorite Youtuber convinced them that their anger is substantiated and that they're worth effort, which couldn't be further from the truth.

So, hypocrisy it is.

You're lying about a unified Japanese condemnation of Shadows.

Once again, you're ignoring that this game is historical fiction. Like the rest of the series, this game starts right up with this disclaimer. Many elements are accurate, like Japan existed, Nobunaga was a warlord, and Yasuke was samurai. Some are not, like magic dragon mounts or Yasuke being a super elite assassin or whatever.

Your bit about insanity is irrelevant to the topic.
Oh yeah isn't the Japanese government suppose to be "investigating" this game. How is that going?
This is a video from an actual Japanese historian and he talks about yasuke like 10min in. If you actually think you know more than this dude or have a say on the matter over him you’re simply delusional. He literally says “even though yasuke became a retainer it’s very likely he was not treated well” take that as you will. https://youtu.be/IEpd2SVw0F8?si=L4wplwJFNUhtuZHp

"Retainer." So, yes, samurai he was.

Keep showing how little you actually know. It’s genuinely amusing. “ While the term "retainer" often implies a samurai, it's not a perfect synonym. A retainer, in the context of feudal Japan, was a vassal or subordinate, and while many samurai were retainers, not all retainers were necessarily samuraI”

Good one, person using a debunked talking point. You get your facts from the garbage.
Like Ubisoft you see one word and just run with it.
