it's different studios. vallhalla was made by a different team who made origins.
shadows is made by the oddysey team who also made black flag.
people just like to say ubisoft but the reality is they have ALOT of seperate teams working on their own things. like for example project over which is supposed to be a new ghost recon game, farcry 7 and splinter cell remake.
but in this case AC is being made by two teams each working on their own respective AC game. which is AC shadows and AC hexe (a more linear AC game)
So .. nothing happened. If you don't like it. Move on. It's not for you and that is ok. Probably next year the game will be in your liking. There are thons of games out there.
I swear the manchildern in gaming are the ones ruining everything, because they all whine and then go and buy the Gold eddition of something they whine about, because they have no impulse control. And then they "Voice their oppinion" like it matters to someone :D reality check - no body cares about your oppinion. Even if you put it in a badly cut Youtube video.
OMG Rando first blood with an internet connection don't like something ... lets all get together and sing him a song ...
Yet Odyssey has currently more active players by far than Valhalla. How do you explain this?
That may be the case, if it were a live service game that would be an issue, but it isn't as long as you buy the game and the DLC I don't think they care if you play for 1 hour vs 5000hrs
That aside, AC Odyssey released on steam day one, Valhalla did not. Also PC made up 30% of Valhalla sales i believe, meaning most of its players is on console.
That's why I think that Steam's player base will be somewhat low.
Then we'll have all of the mean-spirited misanthropes starting threads, mocking the game.
"Veilguard had 90,000 people on release!!!!!! AC: Shadows has only 800 people!!!!!!!!!!!"
None of it matters because the game is a console crackerjack, worldwide.
Sales for this game will be by the fleet size, regardless of Steam.
I'm surprise no one is mentioning how everyone's praise Rise of Ronin only have 12k.
saying this like its a bad thing....
Hot take: Origins is the best AC since the Reboot. It had the perfect Maps size and perfect playtime. Odyssey and Valhalla are so f*cking bloated, I never finished the games.
Actually, the series being absent from Steam is a huge reason why it had so few PC players in the first place. I refuse to buy anything not on Steam or at least GOG*, and I know I'm not in the minority here. But it's safe to say the Steam market share for this game will be at least somewhat divided with Ubi's store, because of the player base they built in there in the Steamless years.
*PS: I will purchase the RE trilogy again if you release it on Steam, Capcom, just do it.
Absolutely, the point was, I don't think I heard one positive thing said about Valhalla anywhere except the AC subreddits, from the combat being garbage, being bloated, to being boring and uninspired.
DBD recently had a recent awakening as well, there is lots of complaints about the 2v8 mode yet the poll showed that 80% of the community wanted to keep it longer. The community that engages in forums online is such a tiny part of the population.
And because Ubisoft+ is the cheapest way to play it. That's how I'll be playing it at launch.. then I'll probably buy the heavily discounted Ultimate edition a couple years later and play all the DLC.
And it was a PS5 / XSX launch game. People buy games with their new console.
Even if you take "Assassin's Creed" aspect out of Valhalla, Valhalla is an amazing medieval game.
