Was Syndicate a good experience?

Its the one that i ended up missing and as ive grown used to starting to customization and personalize the character EG Odyssy and Valhalla. I find it weird to go back to the older system. While i do feel gameplay has been somewhat rotted from older iterations as they have went for more of a action RPG gameplay perspective i just dont see how'ed you'd grow attached to the characters when one or two of them will be very diverse

I'm sure most people will end up picking one over the other but then forced to play certain sequences as one they dont favor. This is why i ask~ did Syndicates formula for the most part work?

Why would that be a problem?

What if the game was about an Eskimo living in upper Canada. Would you have a problem assassinating people as an Inuit character?

Your job is to kill people not become a social butterfly and leader of the free world.

I don't really remember Syndicate, I've been meaning to replay it...
Is it most of the time you choose your char, but some missions force one or the other right ?
I think that's OK, as long as they don't take the choice away too long, to tell their story.
But since in AC Shadows, the gameplay might be very different, maybe some people won't like it so much.
