Is the new Assassins Creed woke?

I guess you can either play as a black person or a woman. No immediate red flags there, yet when has romanticizing mechanics been an integral or wanted part of the game?
I suppose they could say theyre offering "unique" characters and stories to their audience but how does including a non binary person i can bang relate to me?
I also enjoy how theyve done a great job catering to such a minority of people while offending a greater amount of people with this game.

Will this be a waste of money?

Hey, Black Flag is a great pirate game. It's a terrible Assassin's Creed game, but it is a great pirate game.

The pirate game (IV) might be the best in the series.
