That;s because they're all getting banned or having their accounts terminated for talking about the game.

Steam forums are also sensitive to that.
Steam is more okay if you are polite .. though its person to person.
But its nothing new .. even normal polite post is removed, user banned. But not by steam.
I dont know if its controlled by ubisoft itself on other platforms, but you can see typical klišé banning marathon everywhere .. sometimes moderators just dont like negative talk about what they like so they abuse their own power.

I have some perma bans on couple of forums for just asking a simple question before buying. When I asked steam about it, they said that this is up to the developer, they are in charge here, and if they are openly banning people for this, its their reputation and as long as they follow rules, you can ban whoever you want, steam wont help.
Banning people or removing post is not against the rules. They take steps only if either side is breaking the rules.

Posts multiple threads trying to gain traction with their negativity towards the game, acts like nobody's excited after flooding the forums with their agenda.

It's going to be a very successful game.

Despite the critics that you see, giving it the wrecking ball treatment.

With a game this impressive it's easy to spot the liars and disruptors.

A few months ago I took one look at Veilguard and was shocked by how ugly it looked. It was revolting. It looked like a giant, neon, Asian-style MMO.

It was so horrific to observe that I never followed it again. It was the first Dragon Age game that I never purchased. I didn't even know that it had social issues, or that the game director was fired until yesterday.

Assassin's Creed: Shadows is not that type of game. When you look at this marvellous feat, it blows your mind.

In other words, all of the negativity that Shadows is attracting says more about the gamers themselves than the Canadians who designed it.

It's easy to filter out the half-wit comments and imbecilic videos.

I dunno, I've been posting my takes here for the last few days, and those are pretty critical takes. Nobody banned me yet. Maybe it's because I find ways to conduct passionate scrutiny without resorting to lingo like "woke trash"?

I can't talk for "gamers", but I'm personally on the fence.

On one hand, I wanted a Shogun Total War Ninja Clips: The Game for decades, and Shadows is the closest I'll ever get to making that dream come true.

On the other hand, making a dedicated stealth game is unlike anything AC done before - so they had to throw in a warrior character as to not alienate the Valhalla crowd. This led to Ubisoft spreading themselves thin, this led to dilluted gameplay, this led to stealth (tools variety) and parkour that's worse than Mirage.

I get it how it might sound weird - praising the game for being dedicated stealth where Naoe's peak gameplay is waiting patiently atop of a tree for hours until nighttime before making a move; while simultaneously bashing it for not being dedicated stealth enough due to the need to reach parity with Yasuke's playstyle.

It's just that... I expected more of them? Knowing full well everything Ubisoft is capable of when they want to. In my perfect game, Naoe would be able to disguise as a servant, use poison darts, lay traps and throw caltrops to make her escape easier. I'm all for the shinobi fantasy, but I guess I just wanted more of it.

I mean, maybe they will add some of those things I mentioned in DLC. But then again, maybe they won't. As it stands, I have to buy an expensive Lego set for the sake of minifigures and end up with a bunch of bricks I've no use and never asked for.

seems like the game has some issues.

I actually hate videos like this.
Talking about petting a dog which means absolutely nothing.

While everyone is ignoring the buggy combat, AI that is not working. The ugly combat visuals .. rainbowy glowing characters, black and white visuals. Misaligned assassination body positions, no assassination animation, one dying animation and one dead body lying position.
Have no one noticed that super bad Naoe's running stairs animation? Walking is "below average", but running, thats just terrible.
Bad audio ..

And people talk about a dog .. thats not important at all. Though yes, it is extremely pathetic that they cant make even this simple thing work, which kinda just only makes me pretty stupid wanting them to make other bigger and more important things right ..

The teleportation is kinda stupid, it was stupid already in AC Odyssey, though it wasnt that annoying as it is in ACS. Plus the black and white visuals, thats a game breaker.

I think that culture war grifters have issues.

I'm not only interested in the game, but also really keen.
I've been waiting for A.C. in Japan for years.
But I can only pre-order the game in 4 or 5 days.

After what Asmongold said about the war in the middle-east I honestly don't care about him.

Asmongold got some great common sense takes when it comes to gaming, but his problem is he goes where the content is and as a result he tries to become an authority on everything, even things he got no clue about. Like, it's a civilization that existed for thousands of years, if they want to stick to culture and religion that worked for them all that time - just leave them alone, who are you to judge.

Because the dog is a low-hanging fruit of a talking point when you want to quickly convince people the game is bad. Much easier than to go on a 20 minutes long analysis/deep dive/rant about how parkour is worse than Mirage.

That said, should the dog work as intended in AAA game so close to release that was delayed twice for polish's sake? Yes, yes it should. Ubi did not call Shadows an Early Access game, they are charging top dollar, so it comes with the territory.

I think there are generally two kinds of people who come to this forums:

a) "trolls" who want to regurgitate talking points of the army of youtubers who told them to hate the game

b) those who want to like the game, perhaps in spite of everything.

What I like is we have a solid gameplay preview from the standpoint of over a dozen people. There's more than enough basis to make up our mind for ourselves. For example, I am not hating on the two "classes" game design because SkillUp or Big Dan told me to - I watched the 3-hour stream by JorRaptor first, and that was my takeaway from it, with those creators I mentioned only confirming my concerns.

Pretty even response Harris. I agree, it's not going to be 10/10, I'm sure it will have some bugs and lack some polish. It won't take too much away from my overall experience because I've been playing games for a very long time, I understand that post-release patches are the norm and as long as it doesn't destroy my computer due to programming negligence, will still enjoy the story and gameplay.

I won't have to want to like it, I'll just like it.
