Basim is Loki. During the events of Ragnarok in which all of the Gods used a machine to transfer their consciousness into other physical beings, Loki was left out for his betrayal. He murdered one of the other Gods and took their place. His manifestation on Earth was Basim. William Miles talks about not trusting him, my guess is that he's already run off to cause problems.
My misunderstood is why Ubisoft gave so much space to Basim in the past and the present to just throw all of this in to trash for Shadows ? For the first time since a long time ago we had finally a main character with something unique.
I hope they have a plan for him for another game
but a large number of players have given feedback that they dont care about the modern storyline at all, and it seems ubi-soft is pretty much doing away with it for the mainline games. maybe we'll see some indication of what happens to basim and the assassins in the animus hub (ac infinity launcher thing) but i doubt it will play any real role in the actual ac shadows game.
