I only heard the English voices in the promotional/review footage and...I was all set. "Immersive" for me.

I am fine with Naoe's VA but I also think she did a much better job in the intro sections of the game than later on. Almost as if the weight of all those lines eventually caught up to her. But really fantastic performance in the emotional opening scenes and flashbacks to Iga.

I'm playing with subtitles and japanese voices. It's how I watched Sonny Chiba do his thing years ago and it just sits right with me.

Her's is the one I hate the most in the English dubbing. She doesn't sound serious

It definitely sounds better, but (maybe it's my ADHD) it's hard to read and understand what's being said, and pay attention to their expressions and scene. It gets even worse when they start spewing dialogue during combat or other playable scenarios

It's all subjective... to my ears the English dub is very, very patchy and sadly Naoe herself sounds flat, monotone and boring, it does not help that some VA's either tried very hard to sound Japanese or actually struggle with the English language, this will always impact a performance, if you do not really speak the language that well. Yasuke is fine, but he's non Japanese to begin with, many Japanese characters (not all!) in the game are not acted well though in the English dub.

The Shiitake vendor is however absolutely the worst. I do not know what they were going for here or of this is supposed to be comedic. None of the other NPCs ever sound that bad.

i guess if they used American or European English voice actors it will be off on japanese faces and ppl will complain either way just play the game on immersive mode
