That was the year that The Last of Us II cleaned up and Valhalla got stomped.
Assassin's Creed: Shadows will do better than that. It will win at least a couple of awards.
Including Best Action/Adventure.
ACS has way better stealth
let's hope yotei mix these two
And people said Valhalla was too long. Shadows is at least 2x-3x longer than Valhalla. 😴💤
I think Monster Hunter already has that in the bag. Shadows could possibly win Best Art Direction.
Its almost getting worse than all the "Ubisoft is doomed!" posts.
It is not.
Love that game. But be real.
GoT has a much smaller map, fewer activities, a very fun and engaging but predictable af combat system, a story that is as much of a power fantasy as this game, with mission and quest design borrowed from *this* series.
Not to mention Shadows gives us way more than just a katana to fight with, way more than just a bow to shoot with, and far more to do with the environment and stealth. Customization and our own hideout that we can build and style to our desire, with an open world meta that rewards exploration and stockpiles assets and resources for improving that hideout and it's functions.
That one would think GoT is better than Shadows tells me that one either hasn't been here long enough to remember what the gaming space was like, or is needlessly riding a train of deliberate ignorance and skepticism at a series they claim needs innovation, yet can't seem to provide examples or nuace in how that innovation is presented.
Be honest.
Truthfully, the games get better with every release because the devs at least dedicate their ideas and time to expansive development. Higher costs, bigger goals, more gameplay for the player.
And in that entire time we've only received marginal upgrades and tweaks, ie: prone(finally.), hidden blade integration again combat redesigns and various rerolls of activities throughout different games.
Frustrating, but honest and conservative in the efforts of maintaining what was while also still trying to evolve.
Frankly I think Shadows is the best of the series, top 3 for me easily. Others don't have to share that opinion, but you *cannot* claim to me GoT is a better objective game. It is literally a slightly smaller, less content packed game.
What the ♥♥♥♥ are you smoking?

Ghost sadly also had/has completely immersion breaking bugs like the standoff bug, the Iki sound bug and the sound bug during the final mission that still isn't fixed.
Shadows is the better RPG and GOT is the better simulation especially on Lethal mode. It just depends on what you want out of your game.
Valhalla had a 60 hours long main quest, while this is about 30. It's what people complained about.
