The possible future of assassins creed shadows unveiled at the animus HUB?
Before I start, I wanted to say that this is more of an opinion I wanted to share about an idea as it is not confirmed. For a long time, Ubisoft usually releases at least 2 expansions for their games. The first one is already announced (but no date) and it would be free for everyone. According to leaks, it would be about the search for naoe's mother. My guess would be about the second expansion.
If you have noticed, before entering the game a new anumus is presented where we can select the game we want to play (origins, valhalla, shadows etc...) and next to it comes the start date of the game. Well, if you look at it, other dates appear. This could indicate perhaps future locations but what has caught my attention is one of these historical dates: The year 1616. In principle it could be another date but it is very close to the date of shadows and in smaller letters. But, in that year very important events happened in the history of Japan. In 1616, Tokugawa Ieyasu died and who was he? Well, he is considered the father of Japan because he is the one who unified the country and initiated the Tokugawa Shogunate and the Edo period. In addition, this character appears in the base game. In addition, in that year Japan will close the ports of the country to foreign countries except two ports to China (Nagasaki and another one that I do not remember). This will be the beginning of what would come later in 1639, the “sakoku”.

The sakoku was the period in which Japan was closed to the world until 1853 when it was reopened. I think it is a very interesting period that coincides with the time of naoe and yasuke. Maybe we could see naoe already being a master assassin and a conflict with the templars. would naoe and yasuke unintentionally provoke the sakoku thinking that this would be good for Japan but in the end they would regret it? (like in assassins creed 3 when Connor realizes that by liberating usa, he condemned his people) would the templars try to avoid the sakoku to control Japan? It could make for a very interesting story. Also we can not forget that in 1614 the Jesuits were expelled from Japan and they are important in the history of Yasuke.

What is your opinion? Do you think that the 2nd expansion could go this way? If you know the background (real) history or you are Japanese and I am wrong about something, please correct me without problems. I know some of the story off the top of my head but not much as I am not Japanese nor am I super familiar with Japanese history. Best regards

I dunno...
But I really want a supernatural expansion, very much like Atlantis for Odyssey. And I think Valhalla had one too, happening mostly in the land of the Gods, but did not play it.

Since Origins they have went with 2, one with fantasy and one more grounded in the world, so problaby.
But they got give us something ISU-related. Those boxes that they say are so important obviously contains pieces of eden, at some point to have to reveal what it is. Im kinda annoyed that the base-game here doesnt include any isu-stuff at all

The animus-fragments hints at something. Those fragmens are the only thing in the entire game that is somewhat related to the end of Valhalla wíth the tree of destinies with Layla and Desmond (problaby, was never confirmed).
