remove ubisoft connect and I'll consider it
I'm done with third party accounts. I'm sick and tired of having to type in user accounts and passwords and waiting for connection, I bought the game, I want to press play and be able to play my single player game within 30 seconds.

That's what Square Enix give us, that's what Sony gave us eventually, that's what Capcom give us, it's not that hard, just have respect for paying customers. As long as third party DRM and Launchers are getting in the way of the paying customer, I will not buy from you any more.

Why did the game launcher get kicked out of the bar?
Because it kept crashing the party.

I wish they would. If it wasn't for this series I wouldn't support the company but since I do it's the only non-Steam launcher I put up with now.
Maybe that's why they are suddenly migrating several achievements from their launcher over to the games on Steam, would be nice not to have to deal with Ubi Connect anymore...that's for sure.

honestly, whats the point of having Ubi connect which requires launcher and account in order to play (always online DRM) plus DENUVO anti-tamper DRM on top?

denuvo makes sense, prevents or delays piracy during most important sales period, but the always online drm sounds more like a thing for controlling the user and analytics, telemetry etc

Maybe consider reading the Q&A that's literally shown in game's news feed

JorRaptor on UCP: "Do we need the Ubisoft launcher if we buy the game on Steam?"

Ubisoft Connect Team: Launching the game through Steam doesn't require you to download and install the Ubisoft Connect Launcher, as the Steam installation already includes a lite embedded version of it. You simply need to link your Ubisoft Connect account to Steam.

As Assassin's Creed Shadows comes with cross-save and cross-progression features, linking your Ubisoft Connect account allows us to provide you with a seamless experience no matter where you play. Through Ubisoft Connect, you will also be part of our global loyalty program to unlock rewards and exclusive discounts, including on pre-orders and new releases.

A lite embedded version is still Ubi's launcher, no matter how you slice it. It's still mandatory to play the game.

I've happily skipped Ubisoft's games on PC since forever because of the stupid launcher requirement and DRM and will continue to do so. Well, I guess I've made a few exceptions when prices have been exceptionally good, but Ubisoft has definitely got less money from me that it could have. I also don't have a current-gen console, so Ubisoft's games in general can wait, although I wouldn't get any shooters on consoles anyway.

That's my two cents. Ubisoft will probably keep treating paying customers poorly regardless, and Ubisoft won't be seeing much of my money in the future either. I'm mostly posting in case anyone at Ubisoft ever reads this stuff, because I'm getting pretty tired of this nonsense that's way too common and becoming even more so.

I feel this. And I have seen them randomly appear in threads here to support their friend/alt.
It used to not be so bad for me being the happy consumer buying even limited edition console and handhelds just because I wanted to support the games I loved and then love is lost.

I honestly thought they said that they would remove it for this and Star Wars Outlaws, but it appears that's not the case.

No idea what I read that gave me that impression...

Can echo that, there are a bunch of games I would love to own on steam from both ubi and EA. but the launcher/separate account business is keeping me away.

except for the times when it decides to forget for no reason at all. 😎

That was a blanket statement. certainly Ubiconnect isn't the worst offender, not like the square enix account system for ffXIV or the mihoyo accounts, but even once a month or two is just too much now. I lost all patience.

AC: Black Flag requires you to manually log in every time you try to play, it's really annoying.
