nice update ubisoft
ruined my performance(wasn't that good to begin with), Amd fsr framegen working like crap, supper laggy, places where i was getting around 90 fps with framge gen(buttery smooth) no i can barely pass 70, and feels extremely laggy

mine won't even launch after the update

The performance can tank randomly while walking around and you can fix it by reapplying RT quality setting and maybe also by reapplying shadow quality, depends maybe.
So select different quality, apply, select same quality, apply, and done.
Not guaranteed to work, but for me it works every time.
when I click on launch game it just opens my steam an pops-up the splash screen, and then opens ubisoft connect then does nothing.

still extremely laggy, fsr framegen just doenst work anymore
It's not Ubisoft, it's your PC. Just get a better PC and stop complaining!
yeah sure ♥♥♥♥ sherlock, explain to me why was my game running just fine before the patch
Check your settings.... it would seem after the last update that Frame gen and upscaling were set to disabled. If you was using these things then it is likely your performance is going to be bad until you turn them back on.
My performance, with everything maxed (apart from hair), was consistently hitting 75fps throughout with no noticeable drops; albeit with DLSS quality and frame gen. Now, I can barely make 60. I've checked frame gen and dlss are both applied after the update.
So the main problem with the 1.04 update other than resetting your settings seems to be with RTX.

Drop RTX to medium and all your problems should be fixed. Personally I find this game to be to dark at night on anything higher than medium RTX anyway, with HDR or without doesn't seem to matter its hard to see.

The game should also rebuild the shader cache after the 1.04 update, if it didn't delete the cache folder manually in \Documents\Assassin's Creed Shadows
I was running with RTX set to very high and the game looked absolutely gorgeous, especially at night, feels a bit odd to have to peg it back to medium because someone at Ubisoft messed up.

I never claimed it was a good fix lol, just passing along what I found through testing.
hopes it holds up... unlike me swapping Nvidia drivers, it worked for 1st session and the next day it was back to crashing.

I will just play something else and wait for the 1.05 update with hope of a fix.

you can use 576.28, it no longer has the temp sensor bug and has the updated DLSS profile for Ass Shadow
I dont use DLSS or have high temps... (Custom O.T.T water loop, Even in hot Aussie summer stays cool below 60C on CPU and 55C on GPU @ MAX load)

Also used that driver. and used DDU to remove and go back to a driver that I knew was working with out issue. Unfortunately the game would still randomly crash :*(

Curious. No issue on my end, FSR Frame gen and upscaling enabled. If anything, I would say it runs smoother. I'm not sure, though.
