Framerate dips when returning to Hideout after playing for hours?
Anyone having this issue, or is it just me? This only happens in the Hideout Area after playing the game for hours in Open World. And when switching back to Open World, the framerate there is normal, but Hideout is still horrible. Usually Hideout runs fine, exactly like Open World, be it forests or big castles or cities. Base FPS is 90-110 without any dips.
But then when i play for a prolonged period of time, coming to the Hideout causes my FPS to dip to 45-60. It can't even be a consistent FPS. I wish i could just lock the Hideout FPS to 30 or something, going back to open world, the framerate returns to normal.

My Specs might be low-mid, but the game plays fine without any problems and the only issues i have are minor traversal stutters that are tiny bleeps. When coming into one part of the map to another, happens to everyone according to Digital Foundry.

Ryzen 5600X
RX 6600 XT 8GB VRAM
16GB DDR4 2400 MHZ
SSD
WIN 11, Latest Update
AMD Optional Drivers for AC:Shadows and TLOU2 (Happened on normal drivers too).

Settings are 1080p, TAA 60%, FSR FrameGen and base High Preset without modifications (Medium or Low don't give any advantage over High and they look far worse, FSR 3.1 also performs slower and looks FAR worse in motion and foliage).
RayTracing is set to Hideout Only, obviously.

Changing the RayTraced to Low does not fix the problem, and the game and the card can handle the Hideout Area when loading into the game, it has the same performance as any other area, even when going in and out of it. And it doesn't matter how many characters, objects or what kind of weather it is. It's a stable 90-110 there and everywhere else. But it can't handle RayTracing in Open World very well.

It just happens when playing for hours. And the only fix is to restart the game, which i dislike doing.

I tried monitoring the CPU/GPU Usage and VRAM/RAM, etc. And they appear normal, no memory leaks or anything. So what could be causing this? Anyone else with this problem?

Otherwise the game plays perfect, and it's the first AC game i enjoyed after Origins. In fact, i think the game is superb after Tsushima, especially Naoe and Stealth, but Yasuke is also fun because the revamped combat is great after the failure of Valhalla. Just throwing that out.

I play on UPlay BTW, so i don't own it on Steam. Thanks!

My fps will sometimes plummet randomly after playing for some time too. What usually fixes it is alt+tabbing out and back in again. Another trick is changing a graphic setting (Shadows from Medium to High and back again). Can give that a try.

Thanks, will try it next time. For me it only does that in the Hideout area. Everywhere else the FPS is stable as long as i don't fiddle with the settings too much (So i just leave them as they are, High Preset, TAA 60% and FSR FrameGen), then for some reason FPS just goes down and i have to restart the whole game.

Hope they will fix this, whatever it is. Apparently they will announce something today for Shadows, Maybe it's a new patch and some content updates? Who knows. I hope it's something good.
